I've sent you a PM.

For info - the standard mounts don't have the void around the stud filled in. I opted not to have that part filled too so just the 'other' side poly filled. I can barely tell any difference in terms of harshness, vibration, noise etc as it is now so if I was doing it again I would probably go and have the stud side filled too.If you look at the space around the stud it is so small anyway. When I first fitted them I could tell and feel a discernible difference, but like most of my mods, you get used to it and now the new feeling is the new norm.
Cheers thumbup

You will absolutely love it. These sunny days with roof and windows down are something else. After I have finalized a deal I am working on late this year I will be apportioning funds to a set of cargraphic manis and supersport tyres next spring.

Would love a harder rawer edge to the pse, but is defo enough as standard. You will also love braking from serial speeds and feeling the g due to it being so lightweight.

Share your experiences once you have picked it up.

I don't get why people don't understand the value of the OPC warranty when buying private!! As itsy says it's the best you can get and if a dealer is advertising it then it's nothing to do with them.

I did find when mine was up for sale privately at top money there was little interest as people typically at this price level are looking for finance or part ex, that's where a dealer on a SOR can really add something to the sale process.

If people have got the cash then they are wasting their money buying from a dealer on a SOR car with OPC warranty.

It's not just warranty, if you buy private you've got the worry about history, HPI checking for outstanding finance, how you pay etc.

A private car I'd want to be more than £2k cheaper for all the potential concerns....imho

I tend to buy private and meet the last owner, you learn a lot. buying from dealer NO chance of finding history these days, you just get "data protection spouted at you"

No reason for private cars to be cheaper for cars like these.
buyers choice though as normal. paying is easy, an Hpi is what £20 and a seller can put a 2 year warranty on it if the buyers wants one.

I would also take a part ex no issue, it's free money, no easier money to be made imo.

I never have worked out a payment method that's easy and satisfactory to both buyer and seller.

Doubly difficult as most have finance that needs settling too.

It's really straightforward if you make the effort to find out what to do. I bought a £40k car privately with finance on it, paid the finance co direct and balance to seller. There's an element of trust on timing of payment but the speed of bank transfers today means you can process the payment on collection of the car. Don't be put off just because it sounds difficult, do your homework on car and seller and you'll save yourself a few grand versus the dealer route.

I bought an Elise a while back and did just that.

It was a right faff, me and seller onto phone to finance company for ages, I wasn't certain I had clear title, seller wasn't happy he'd been released from finance.

When completed I left and an hour plus later I was half way home and seller was onto me saying he wasn't comfortable as he'd not got release docs from finance company and could I turn round and go back.

I said no I was going home, then her was going to come up to me 3 hours north and stay nearby overnight until it was confirmed.

I hated it, nerve wracking uncertainty.

Hence for me the security of a dealer is worth a few quid and to tempt me a private sale would have to be significantly cheaper.

Each to their own.

Surely the key news here is that Bertie has got himself a beautiful new car at a price he was happy with and dealing with someone he was comfortable with.

What is to be gained by coming on here offering all sorts of advice about how it could have been done differently when the deal is already done? Anything to try and take the shine off someone else's happiness eh.

Bertie - once again, big congrats.

Hope you're enjoying the car Bertie - picked mine up in May after moving on the 997 but struggle to get the keys off the missus !! Take it on track - really impressive.
