Who do people here go with? I'm struggling slightly as I'm getting quotes that are more expensive than for my 997 GT3 frown Ideally I need track days included, but if people are insuring their's for TDs separately at a sensible price I'm all ears - I just had a £3K quote from MORIS for one day! hehe

I know this will probably go down as controversial but my 997 GTS and my last C2S I was with Admiral. These were both non tracked cars, and low mileage 5000 p/a but I pay less than a grand for the GTS but I am <30 with a crash- I rear ended someone, and Admiral agreed to have the repairs done through Jaz at no extra cost. My renewal came up recently so I spoke to Adrain Flux and the quote was over £3000. For track days I would be inclined to go with just day insurance, something like that.

You can't believe I've gone for Porsche Insurance, cheaper than Admiral for me. I didn't either.

The Dealer was illuminating: "It is worth asking, if you don't you'll never know". He was right! (no track days option)

I'm insured via A-Plan, they are not the cheapest but their service is excellent.

NFU have always been very competitive, offer a great service through local brokers, and on the rare occasion I've claimed, they pay out quickly.

Have gone with Lockton in the end for about ~£1300 (London, on street etc frown ) for an agreed value of £67K. They also do my 993 and GT3 so the admin is a bit easier. There were one or 2 cheaper options from other specialists but they still required £100+ per track day whereas Lockton have always been free. Admiral came in at about £600 which was impressive (even though I still despise them for the hassle they gave me 5 years ago) )but getting sensible quotes for separate track day insurance was a complete non-starter

We have always used Porsche insurance (Marsh Private Clients). Excellent service, and good value. We are paying under £400 for our Boxster GTS, 12k miles, business use, garaged. We both have clean licences and full no claims.

Do they cover track days?

+1 Manning for the last 4 yrs. excellent quality cover, unlimited Official UK track days, highly competitive on their Porsche scheme underwritten by Amlin.

Only catch (per se) is its a 10% of vehicle value excess if you claim following an accident on track. But this is fairly standard.

I've also heard good things about Bridle Insurance - tho I think they only give you 3 track days in the year.

Ok, am "back on the market" as it were as my Lockton policy is due for renewal in August (Boxster was just added to that for the last month or so of this year's policy).

If anyone has any further suggestions for insurance it'd be appreciated, but they *do* need to cover track days as separate insurance appears top be a complete non-starter in terms of cost effectiveness.

So far I've contacted:
Lockton
Mannings
March Private Clients (don't know if they do TDs, but have asked)
Bridle

Any others I'm missing bearing in mind TD cover is a must?

My GTS is with Admiral on a multi-car family policy (includes a BMW 330d and a Corsa 1.0 for 18yo son). Came to £1095 which is pretty good given I have zero history in the UK having just converted my Aussie license to a UK one.

The amazing thing was Admiral covered my 21-yo son visiting from Oz (on his probationary license no less) for £25 per week! No word of a lie.

Lockton coming out on top so far:

~£2,800 for

993 C2 Cab - £31K
997 GT3 - £80K
981 Box GTS - £67K

All agreed value, TDs covered, ~2K miles for each car, cars in London with 2 cars on street 1 in underground car park, virtually full NCB on all, £1K excess. It's the Boxster on the road that hammers the premium.

I might be able to get it a tad cheaper elsewhere or by having cars on different policies, but the Lockton product is consistently better than the competition for my needs and the customer service very good in the 4 years or so I've been with them. Things like not having to have a tracker on the 993, TDs all inclusive and being able to add mates to the insurance for free are nice touches.

Regarding regular insurers, should the worst happen I wouldn't want to chase them for money after the grief I had with Admiral for my F355 claim, and I can only imagine what they'd say if you tried to get them to fund OPC labour rates for a repair frown

Paul at Need To Insure has been brilliant for me over the years, they were the only ones who could insure my old heavily modified TTRS, with track days.

I've just paid £130 additional for the CGTS over a 118d M Sport for the remaining 5 months. But had to organise a Tracker, minimum Tracker Locate.

-Cobra make a slightly cheaper one, but after calling them and speaking to a less than helpful 'I own the company and we can't make exceptions...' types (before I'd asked for anything remotely preferential) Tracker received my money. On another day sure Cobra would have been fine and Tracker a pain.

I was pretty annoyed that Tracker have just cancelled 'for life' subscriptions though.

Porsche via Marsh / Aviva at £493 for two drivers with clean licences in a low risk area.
I did get £381 on the Confusing sites, but Marsh offered me a low excess amd two track days a year (£20 admin fee for cover note each time)
Fully comp EU cover included.

They were also helpful and easy to deal with, so happy I've paid a little more, in exchange for better and wider cover.

I was suprised how cheap these cars are to insure! (For us)

Have gone with Lockton in the end. And as a favour to help me out with getting a parking permit here in town, they've wangled a way to get my girlfriend insured on the BGTS for no extra cost despite the fact she's only had a driving licence for 4 months with zero performance car experience hehe
