How much, is the ad on PH?
It's not advertised anywhere yet, I've been getting trade offers from dealers. I'm not that keen on a private sale but would like a bit more for it than they're offering. A decent offer in the late 30s would buy it, it's a good one, 13 ignitions in RR1, prepared for sale by an OPC 6 months ago.

Why?
Need some of the cash out of it to pay for house renovations that are costing more than we thought! Love the car but can't justify it at the moment.

Ever so slightly off topic, i was speaking to my dealer about a change and they said that they would happily buy in my 13k mile Cayman R on prt ex whilst the Spyder they had on the forecourt was being sold on behalf of their customer on a sale or return basis. The salesman said that they won't buy in Spyders as they just can't sell them due to the roof…

Interesting comments from an OPC...

leicesters is £46k

but 911V sell loads of Spyders, so better to get a price from them than part ex.

While I'm not a fan of the 987 spyder roof, that sounds like BS to me. It's a bit like how OPCs said "PDK for resale" to me before.

Spyders are a niche, for sure, but there are people who would buy one from an OPC out there. Sounds like staff who are still stuck in the thinking around the launch of the car when it wasn't selling well.

There must be some truth in it. After all OPC's are there to make money so if they won't buy them in then they must have a reason…
Thats how my OPC thinks, others may feel different, I like the look of the spider personally, the new one looks very nice indeed.

Sounds a nice car for some one who wants Pdk and sports seats plus it has all important OPC warranty for 6 months!
Depends if you want a quick sale!if he put it up for £40k it would sell quickly but yes£46k is rich but is easy to reduce a price if no takers than to put up the price if the phone doesn't stop ringing at to low a price!

Yep a mate of mine has bought one of them and the OPC had another 2 people lined up for the car if he did not want it.

He has been looking for a while and like most of the other Spyder/R owners had a list of must haves on the car i.e. lowish miles, Spyder wheels, Carbon Buckets, Sports Chrono+ etc. Ideally would have preferred a manual box but was very impressed with the PDK so ended up going for that especially as the Peridot was his preferred colour choice.

Looking forward to seeing it and sure there will be a couple of weekends jaunts next year with my Spyder for comparison.

ah but did it have "mature" previous owners - that seems to be key
