Hi every one
I have just bought a boxster s 2003 and am finding the hand brake doesn't hold very well, my local garage has looked at it and found parts that were seized and although a little better it still will not hold has any body else experienced this?
Thanks

Have they actually inspected the handbrake shoes and mechanism at the rear? The shoes often crumble.

Hi tallboy, there is a specific way to adjust handbrake, and you end up with 5 clicks on ratchet.

Slacken of cable adjuster below plastic floor in rear centre console cubby box,so its slack, readjust shoes as normal, then pull up handbrake 3 clicks, readjust cable tension till both wheels are locked, then handbrake will lock on 3 clicks and you then have extra 2 clicks and it then should be perfect.Make sure wheels free to turn when handbrake released.

If you are still having issues, cables may be seized.
