The problem I see here in Switzerland with GT4 residuals is that I know a LOT of former GT3 owners who ordered the Cayman just to get a manual.
They're happy with the GT4 but all of them would change it for manual GT3 in a heartbeat.
The scarcity is not nearly as pronounced over here (you can still walk into an OPC and order a GT4 at list price) so if rumours are true and Porsche really brings out a manual GT3, I expect used GT4s to trade well below list price.
In the end it is a very nice track toy but not nearly as well rounded of a package as the GT3 with its "hot" and exciting engine , larger cabin, front lift, RWS, etc.

If you earn £80k a week you can buy what you want, it makes a GT4 look cheap lol
So always worth a high price advert to see if there are any takers who want the lastest thing.
It's a lot cheaper than a 2nd hand 991 RS as an example.
It's ok buying a 12C, it's great value, but you still have to run it, a warranty is £5k , a service must be 3x the GT4 price etc etc.
and buy and sell prices when you part ex it back are >£15k
Not many people earning £80k per week and a GT4 isn't flash enough for most footballers! So always worth a high price advert to see if there are any takers who want the lastest thing.

Hope you're not expecting to flip your GT4 for £100k+, because I thinbk you'll be in for a shock.

Anyone pulling in £80k a week and wants a new GT Pig will but an RS, they couldn't stand the shame when somone asks why they didn't buy a 911! So always worth a high price advert to see if there are any takers who want the lastest thing.

Porsche made the perfect car for the un caked GT lover, a smaller, lighter, track focused manual weekend toy, it is exactly what the market wanted, then decided to only supply 3 to 5 per dealer and the whole overs shannanigans continues. If they made enough all we would be taking it about is how they drive, what track day we just did or are planning and who's going, which EU trip we are doing etc etc.
Such a shame they did this again. I for one could afford to buy a GT4 today at £105k but I won't on principle.

Porsche promised to meet the demand for any customer wanting one, so it is disappointing that no more allocation has yet been offered. I certainly hope they do, they probably just need another 100-150 to meet existing waiting lists etc, which will still retain a limited run feel to the car but serve the purpose intended from the outset. Naturally though those that have a build slot will fight against this, wishing to retain a very limited number to prevent price dilution!

I tend to agree with this view. So always worth a high price advert to see if there are any takers who want the lastest thing.

I don't think the gt4 will get the % premium the haloed 911 GT3 will but my OPC has 25 more LOI in for gt4's and their allocation has long gone.
So I think those thinking the gt4 is going back list anytime soon are either deluded or hacked off they didn't get a car.

I suspect they will settle around list price forever tbh, but I'm sure there is someone out there will to pay 6 figures to get into one of the first, but that window will quickly close as more hit the streets.
The high price is not only because it is new but because there will never be many of them and it will always be a classic. Look at GT3's.The price will be stronger if it is the last manual GT.Bieldside said:

Bols have a Spyder coming for 90K
Wondered how muchI ticked a few boxes and ended up with my car at £74k
I'll take £105k !!!
Those whom own a GT4 or have one coming will always say £100k+ is good value; those who don't won't, simple as that. I may change my tune if I ever acquire one list, but until then, 6 figures isn't a sensible purchase for me. If a lower spec GT4 came onto the market for low £90k, then I'd consider it, as my optional extras list doesn't extend as far as most.

I cannot get my head around the idea that a serious sports car needs 18 way electric adjustable seats! We'll see them with cup holders, slipper rests and pipe racks before we know what's hit us
I think my car is a 'serious sports car' but I agree, they don't NEED 18 way adjustable seats...... but it does help when you are on the autoroutes and you just want to relax between Alpine Passes Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
