I'm not a 911 fan, but would anyone in their right mind really believe that a GT4 Cayman made sense at the same price (to a similar spec) as a 991 GT3?

JZM just advertised their first GT4 for £112k!
they love it JZM they ruined the GT3 market imo

"Sweet GT4 now in stock. Delivery miles only! Last GT4 with 918 seats: up for £112,900."

last GT4 with 918 seats lol £112k lol !!! what is the car £70k worth ? £42k overs

NO leather, NO carbon, looks very basic .

madness
Whilst I am no JZM fan (also.....95 miles is 'delivery mileage' lol). I would be intrigued to know why you think they ruined the GT3 market?

This car could sell at ap £113k.....low spec but clubsport, right colour AND leather wheel!

Price indicative of where the market is heading on the back of ecoty despite the winter lull.

You say the 'premiums won t last'. Thing is there is no RS gt4 for owners to trade up to like the gt3RS and nothing else around at even this money....... until a possible gen 2 GT3 in 2 years time.

I know you love the talking up of prices, but if you cannot see it's bad then there you go.

Eh?

But there is no 'good and bad'......only the market decides the price as you know very well....nothing else will dictate it including both JZM and random internet talk either up or down....yes

Very true. The "asking price" is exactly that. I'll go as far to agree the market is strong, but when all said and done it is all based on an equal disagreement on value and agreement on price.

To be fair, you've been doing it for years with the Spyder and Cayman R. Although they have never really taken off.

In my experience JZM are pretty good at knowing what the market will bear in terms of pricing. If it's up at £113K it will likely sell at or very close to that; it's simple supply and demand.

I sold my 997.2 GT3RS via Russ - he priced it according to the market and I got about £15k over what any OPC would offer me at the time.

IMO the spec is just too basic. IMO the Solid White with Platinum wheels loves very cheap v some of the other combinations I've seen on the picture thread.

Also "95" miles. We you can be sure it wasn't kept within "run in" and thrashed around on its way off the boat.

Wouldn't even touch this and I love the GT4. Best waiting for a Yellow, Blue, Red or if white, white with a different wheel combo smile

Never talked them up in price, although I do big the car up as it's a mega thing for road use.
Always said it needs buckets for higher values and I'll say the same for any GT car and R and Spyder, but talk up prices I don't think so.

Me saying a car is great is not the same as JZM pushing the envelope on wanted cars to a point people bail out and the market drops.

I guess the fool is the buyer who will pay £113k though as many paid £165k for a GT3.

You and I are unlikely to ever be buyers of the GT4 at £110K, that doesn't mean the people who are, are fools. Even at £110K it's likely a safer place for your cash that a new 991 GTS.

Glasgow OPC have a white one at present at £99.860 .Not sure the full spec .They also had a red one a few weeks earlier at £110K now sold .
The white one has the standard 20" GT4 wheels in a satin finish and look nice ,it has the sport 18way seats .
A question why are the 918 seats not available on the GT4 and yet are on the Spyder configurator at £918 also you can get the Sport Buckets as a no cost extra on the Spyder but not available on the GT4 ??

All seat options are now available on the GT4 (for the moment).

The option prices seem to vary between platforms.

But those who paid £165k and even more for a GT3 would mostly be happier than paying £165k for say a 12C if depreciation is a concern.

And the poster on here who bought the £105k black car the other week now appears to have made a shrewd purchase. Perhaps the ones who didn t buy were the fools....just food for thought.

Remember last year those thinking the 991 GT3 was vastly overpriced at £145k.....it then went up to £165k and beyond........biggrin:

but now there are 50 for sale and the selling price are £135k and that's if it's high spec. Most are just sitting there.

that's more food for though imo.

Seems like the majority of OPC's have an unadvertised GT4 in their showroom at the moment...

Funny that. Anyone would think that dealerships cottoned on to the post-QE GT3 style premiums that might be available and "made arrangements" to capture them. It would be a shame if it came to light that some/many/any cars were quietly allocated to dealership staff and principals when there were bona fide customers with LOI's and even deposits in place. Surely that couldn't happen? Could it? It might be instructive to see the names on the V5's for some of these unadvertised cars...

Cynical? Me?
