I must be coming down with something.......I'm starting to like Racing Yellow! Very nice.
IMHO , nowhere near as nice as Racing or Signal yellow PorscheGT4 said:
Never talked them up in price, although I do big the car up as it's a mega thing for road use.
Always said it needs buckets for higher values and I'll say the same for any GT car and R and Spyder, but talk up prices I don't think so.
Me saying a car is great is not the same as JZM pushing the envelope on wanted cars to a point people bail out and the market drops.
I guess the fool is the buyer who will pay £113k though as many paid £165k for a GT3.

i think this is crazy money - for a little more you'd be into a GT3 - just saying ......
True, but is the GT3 better value? This is a hotly contested debate and I suspect opinions are very much divided!av185 said:
GT3 could well be better value albeit for say a low spec 2+ year old car v 'new' GT4 which is clearly benefiting to a degree by the recent ecoty victory and latest 'shiny bauble' effect.
Well, I think the GT4 was benefiting before the ECOTY result tbh, and many aren't even aware of that award yet, as I don't think the magazine has hit the high street stores. Personally, yes, if both were the same price, then I'd probably opt for the GT3, but with a price gap of around £30-40k on a like-for-like spec, I'd say the GT4 is better value. I wouldn't however pay more than list for any car, so I'm not the best person to debate this point RSVP911 said:
What would the original spec range be for a GT4 - billy basic through to the lot including ceramics ?
£65k with nothing, realistically £70k for most people, or £75k with pccb, but you could spend £90k if you went bananas!Mine is £81k inc pccb as I did tick quite a few boxes.

Blimey - redline specialist cars say they have a choice of 3 GT4's, JZM has reduced their clubsport and now nearly every OPC has a GT4 in their showroom for sale (not advertised on the OPC website) I wonder now what percentage have been resold?
another well known prestige dealer (non opc) was asking me about how I was enjoying it,he mentioned they were getting 3 in as well.Christ has anybody (apart from me) bought one to actually thrash the pants off it and enjoy it?
We should form an elite group of actual users. Off to France in mine on Sat to run it in and hoping to get out on Thursday at Donington, its a general test day but its got a cage and I have a race licence. Happy days.

It's a sad state of affairs, as is being shown, most cars were bought simply to make profit on. Porsche really need to just open the order books and allow people who want one to just buy one, more cash in the till for them and would put a stop to the way things are being handled at the min.

I'll be driving mine. The car has tremendous intrinsic value; what else can you buy for £70-something-k that will come even close? That is what is important here. The current premium will get you into a 3 or 4 year old Gen II 997 GT3 at best. I think there is a lot of scope for sellers remorse - as is often the case when purchases made for one reason are subsequently sold for another. We should form an elite group of actual users. I'd like to observe a deal being consummated. I doubt that buyers or sellers are able to stand tall and look each other in the eye. Each will feel slightly dirty for what they've done so skulking will be the order of the day. With perhaps one notable exception, no-one here has proudly posted of the premium they've paid or pocketed....;>
