The whole Porsche section has been a much nicer place, let's just hope it stays that way.
There's a couple of other individuals we could do without on the Porsche forum. But losing the resident PH Porsche forum troll (temporarily or not) has made it so much more agreeable around these parts recently.

Anyone know the white GT4 at Wolverhampton?
Any thoughts on the spec? Sorry, too lazy to compare the specs so opinions from GT4 experts appreciated
Save yourself £5k and look at the white one in Bristol. If you are not keen on tracking it much, the black one in Bristol looks excellent value for money and imho looks the dogs danglies.Any thoughts on the spec? Sorry, too lazy to compare the specs so opinions from GT4 experts appreciated

I wasn't going to mention the absent one, but I had noticed this thread being a rosier place without his posts. I hope he is well but his recent lack of posts have been welcome.
He still posts from one of his other numerous accounts he has, sure fire way to tell - anything with a 'rant' and some mis-spelt words = himAfter the GT2 RS, the next GT model will be a Cayman GT4 RS, complete with a 4.0-litre engine. So fast is the current four-cylinder Cayman S that Porsche officials privately concede that, if shod with an equivalent tyre, it would be as quick around the Nürburgring as the existing Cayman GT4, so a big performance leap is expected.
Clearly it won’t have the full 500bhp-plus provided to the new GT3, but expect an output of at least 430bhp, a clear 50bhp rise over the Cayman GT4 and more than enough to establish a clear performance margin to lesser, non-GT Cayman models.

Are they really going to use a detuned version of the gt3 lump? If so then it's going to cost?
The above I don't think will happen as it will be too close to a gt3 and if it does it will cost north of £100k!
As I have said before cant see them using the old gt4 lump as its not made any more and Porsche use engines that are shared amongst other models!
So I still think 425hp flat 4 turbo!
For me all the latest press ( autoexpress, auto car,evo all sharing same story)is just hot air

turbo 4 gt4. not too much more money. i hope
I rather have that that all the speculators going for the next 911R cayman wannabe or whatever gt4 rs
In fact, given that the cayman S is already so fast, I would defo buy the next Gt4 in turbo 4 guise and I rather not have speculators buying in hoping it's a sure fire way of putting cash to work.
It also makes sense to promote the flat 4 turbo as a legitimate porsche product rather than have the grey beards constantly bemoan the loss of the nasp flat 6.
Porsche has the Gt3 to continue the tradition of flat 6 and to cater for speculators why ruin it for the purer driving enthusiasts with another speculative product?

Agreed the 4.0 would seem expensive, the 3.8 powerpack more obvious, but would they go back to that? How many 3.8s would they have to produce globally then? I'm thinking that might be a bit retrospective or inconvenient for them?
Maybe the 4 litre or a turbo 4 would be more likely for practicality. A price hiked RS 4.0 might be more viable.
I always imagined a version of the 3.6 from the 997.2 would've been a decent engine for the GT4, rather than the restricted 3.8. It wasn't that long out of production - but they stayed current, if you get my drift.
Hey who knows, fingers crossed it's NA of some description!
