Fair enough - each to their own. I spec'd it on mine because it tied in the exposed same carbon trim on the 918 buckets, which were essential in their own right to me, and therefore made the car feel more coordinated inside. That will or wont matter to many people, but it did to me. smile
+1

Limiting the number of different finishes or colours in a space is a recognised design technique.

Tying the door and dash trim with the buckets works particularly well, I went with carbon sills for the same reason.

I prefer the brushed aluminium, it isn't plasticy and provides a nice lift the the interior whereas the carbon is too dark..

Is there a way of retro fitting 918 seats via Porsche? Ordering the buckets and getting them put in your GT4.

Yep, the Techquipment site lists them but they're £3960.

Each.

Might be worth looking for some secondhand folding buckets, I have them as I prefer them to the 918'style' and to me they are way more comfortable!

And its not even the 918 ones customised for GT4....... these are normal buckets and doesn't even list GT4 as one of the cars they can go in!

They do list the GT4. You have to have specified GB or somewhere else they're 'allowed' though e.g. they're not road legal in the USA.

I put GB in and didn't give me the option. But its cool Im not paying near on 10k for some seats!!! I didn't get get that option and slightly regret it as they look great. But the seats I have are fantastic even if not as desirable and get criticised.

If you like them and they suit you then don't worry about what others think as said I prefer like others the folding buckets although they were a late addition by Porsche to cover the seat crisis IMHO they are way better than the 918' style'
Remember you are not looking for 918 seats because they do not exist in a gt4!

I think that there is a yellow car for sale at Redline that has the Bucket seats and the PCCBs but no cage. It looks a great spec too.
Yes - but missing the full aircon. Which is obviously not life threatening but would tweak my OCD every drive.

They are not adjustable and the position/height for me is spot on, as for weight not so sure as the 918 style have electric motors!
Which 918 buckets are big money the true ones in the 918 or the copy's in the Gt4? At £4K each on the tech equipment site the folders are not exactly cheap!

what's the difference between true 918buckets and the Gt4 ones?

looks the same to me.

I have the Gt2 buckets in my 997.2 RS and they defo sit higher/. electric motor or not, the range of adjustability is small.

I was not arguing the height card it was the weight one!
So having both seats which do you honestly prefer?

first of all, i prefer perlon cloth to leather. If the car had been properly clubsport with perlon........

The Gt2 buckets sit too high, so for me, it would have to be the 918 seats. If i could get the CGT seats of old, now that's proper.

Looks like it and unfortunately it indicates how the table is flawed with regards to cars selling. Ie a car has sold but i doubt theyll tell you whether to a person/independent/another OPC purchased it. Makes the market look buoyant though i guess

There's bound to be the odd exception. It gives a good idea of what's shifting even if its not completely accurate.
