Can't see the new GT3 at £105 to £110 as the new GTS is around them prices as a start at price
The last one was only £100k on the nose, £110k sounds about right for the next one.It costs no more really than a GT4 to build and that was £64k.
Put it this way I will be shocked if it's any more than £110k
All new Porsche 992 will be on a modular platform "prob Cayman" platform soon anyway, inc the same platform for Audi R8 and lambo's so the real 911 is dead going forward.

Seems to be later build cars and a bad weld on the 3rd gear cog .
But nothing is known fully as it's a bit hush hush as normal.
It would take a few guys like the GT3 boys did to rattle some Porsche cages and make a recall.
But the Engine thing dragged on for 12 months.
It's a full warranty gear box return if it goes.
But it's not a launced gearbox , 3rd gear just pops and you loose it, I guess the cog just spins round the shaft or some thing.

That would depend if any of the bits of weld broke off and flew around the inside of the gearbox. But nothing is known fully as it's a bit hush hush as normal.

Doubt we will hear anything official on it though. Will probably have to rely on an American stripping down his own gearbox in his shed to find out.

It's a great car but at £100k that's almost new GT3 money and around £20k over list.
Unless you have to have it now I'd wait until the GT3 is released before buying if it was me. If the 991.2 comes with a manual option (likely) it may affect GT4 pricing.
Thanks for this. I'm not in any major rush but would like one before June if possible as we have a euro roadtrip booked and this would be perfect. Very high spec; you'd be paying for a lot of boxes ticked but if they are requirements by you, then expect to pay quite a lot. I'd say you may be able to achieve a £95k price on it, but maybe not just yet.
Not convinced the GT3 launch will affect the GT4; the price difference will be significant for a similar spec, maybe £30k!
The spec is lovely, it has PPF applied also so saves me doing it. I'll admit to being smitten, and the interior was really "special" with all the alcantara, yellow accents and buckets. The new GT3 will prob be £105 to 110k plus options and to match that GT4 spec options would be about £18k on top of the base price. PDK GT3 maybe even more !
If you take the base price at £110k plus £18k options that's £128k plus the new £2k 1st year rip off road TAX rules it's going to cost you £130k to get into a good spec new GT3 that's even if you can get one.
A GT4 at £100k is a tad over priced imo, but the one shown is crazy spec and must have been >£85k RRP
I cannot get my head round CS pack with PCCB's mind you, one thing that looks like it should go hand in hand, but CS pack is track spec and PCCB have never liked the track, even race cars inc the CS race car do not use PCCB's.
The oem steels on the GT4 are the same as the 991 RS, the GT4 has zero issue with the steel brake set up.
And as cars without PCCBs can be had £5k cheaper I would be in the steel camp 2nd hand and be after a cheaper car.
A £85k GT4 is a nice buy imo a £100k one less so, also a £100k GT4 will lose more % come resale, atm people are getting the PCCB full amount back it cost, this will not happen later on.
When you look at good well speced £85k GT4 vs a new GT3 at £130k that looks more attractive.
Thanks for your advice, it does make sense. I would definitely feel more confident in the 85k area. This one was local to me, almost wish i hadn't seen it now as i know any others i see are going to be minus buckets or pccb etc. Sensible hat, 85k does make alot more sense. I agree, I think a £130k GT3 would be a better buy than a £100k GT4.
£85k is definitely the sweet spot for the GT4 at the moment, much higher than that and it starts to look like a less safe place to put your money if you want to minimise future depreciation.
Cheers, really glad i posted on here actually it's a good shout i'm way to impulsive with car buying. I want to get one and enjoy it, but with one eye on it retaining a decent chunk of its value.£85k is definitely the sweet spot for the GT4 at the moment, much higher than that and it starts to look like a less safe place to put your money if you want to minimise future depreciation.

I expect the 991.2 GT3 will be similar, say £105k without options.

The increase in price from the 991.1 GTS to the 991.2 GTS was what, 5%?

I think 'List Price' is very misleading. I expect the 991.2 GT3 will be similar, say £105k without options.
I think the GT3 will come in near £110k, but correctly spec'd cars will be £120k++ (and then + the premium )

Only time will tell, but I can't see the new 4L GT3 starting at anything £105 to £110, I think it will start in the low £120's and drop in just below the base turbo
But as said let's see and don't much care lol
For the 992 generation GT3 maybe but i don't think they will add £20k to a car that is fundamentally the same as the Gen 1 which is not long out of production. But as said let's see and don't much care lol
Exchange rate or no exchange rate, they've already shown their hand with the pricing of the GTS which wasn't an large increase at all which I am sure was very welcomed!

As we now live in a post Brexit world with a devalued GBP and fairly steady exchange rate I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche took this into account for the new GT3 and bumped an extra 10-15% on top to £125k base price.
Porsche didn't raise prices from late 08 to 2011 when eur/gbp wasn't too far from current levels.... Allocations were a bit tighter I suppose (and way less demand) but no reason to think prices are going to get bumped 10-15% given past history imo.trowelhead said:
Hi guys.
Looking for some feedback on this car:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...
Priced towards the top of the market but spec is pretty much perfect for me.
I have not yet driven a GT4 and not able to drive this one as it is on SOR. So would be a big leap of faith!
How about a Spyder? this one fore example?Looking for some feedback on this car:

Sat in this car tonight whilst at the dealers. Very nice but the wrong seats for a euro tour. Sales guy told me a few people has looked at, but not settled on this example due to the seats. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

918 buckets are super comfy and supportive - perfect for a Euro trip once you get the hang of getting in & out of them - only issue is they aren't heated (for winter roof off fun ) RSVP911 said:

I'm a big fan, and would be great for a euro tour. But there is just something about the GT4 that really appeals to me.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

I wouldn't miss seat heating in a cayman, but it's a must in any car without a roof Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
