Ok, so I've done some analysis and here is my opinion based on the following points:

25 'genuine/available' GT4's available for sale on Pistonheads (out of 29). Previously 33 (15th June).

6 new since my last check, admittedly too long ago to be valid. 14 removed, be that sold or returned.

The average is £96,917, down from £99,475 on last check. The low price is £88,950 and the high price £109,995 (which is way over priced).

Interesting pattern forming, in that most £100k+ cars have come down to £90k+, but those previously priced at £88k-£89k have gone up to around £93k.

911Sport have finally dropped the price of their £114,950 GT4 down to £96,995, and have had this car since before I started logging back in March. They asked too much too early and are now suffering as a result (one would assume).

Only 4 with delivery miles.

Only 2 with Clubsport.

Only 2 without PCM.

Based upon the previous 14 being sold (only an assumption) the most popular selling colours are White and Sapphire Blue; the worst Agate Grey. Paint to sample colours not selling but maybe down to premiums.

Colours for sale:

5 Agate Grey
3 Black
2 GT Silver
3 Guards Red
1 Riviera Blue
2 Sapphire Blue
1 Viper Green
6 White
2 Yellow

Best value tourer: G C Motors £88,990 (comfort seats etc)
Best value all rounder: Private (West Midlands) £93,985 (black, 14 miles)
Best value track weapon: Lodge Motor Company £89,950 (clubsport)

Opinion on where prices are going, ignoring variables such as economy or future models? I would have said mid to high 80's, but an interesting pattern has formed with a few cars increasing their prices. I'd say for the rest of the summer and into autumn, low 90's, with a slump over winter before firmed up prices in the spring when all cars have been delivered and the £10k flippers have gone.

Good post. Actual facts are scarce on here.

Does anyone know the GT4 production numbers? Did Porsche ever release a figure for the second allocation? I would need to know that before having a chin stroke and a proper analysis on if they are a good long term bet. My gut feeling is that they will be far more expensive in 5/10 years than they are now.

Any 'limited run' GT Porsche, especially non tech dating 'manuels' are guaranteed to be.

That's the thing with the gt4 it's effectively not limited like it was with the first allocation.

Porsche won't supply numbers for non-limited cars, so based on registered GT4's from data ending Q1 2016 (442), of which only a small proportion of them were probably from the second batch announced, I'd be sure there will be at least 600 units when we have the final figures maybe at the end of the year. Some are guessing at 800 units, which is possible, but I doubt anyone knows for sure.

Even with higher numbers, if you're after a relatively new manual motor there aren't many alternatives sub 90+k.

Total Cayman/Boxster production for 2015 was 22k, the GT4 as a single model will be a large chunk of that.

Porsche will now produce 220 sports cars per day at Stuttgart, that's a small number. More than 4 times as many Macans/Cayennes at Leipzig.

A large chunk of that will be Boxsters ! Porsche have always made more than 2-3 times as many Boxsters to caymans

I think 600 sounds feasible, we know 442 were registered up to 31/3/16 of which a big chunk of deliverys were between November 2015 and March 2016 but I think deliveries slowed down after that and with only 3 months to add ie end of June and a few deliveries in July ! But we should have 30.06.2016 figures in about 5 weeks so then we will have a good indication of numbers

Good point, the majority of deliveries were up until end of March, then slow in April and May then a flurry of deliveries again in June, with a trickle in July. Will find out soon enough.

Estimated total of 646

My logic, 442 to end of March, majority of which from the initial batch. That is an avg of 13 per OPC. On top that, a further 50% built, so an additional 6 per OPC, taking that to 19 cars per OPC.

Anyone fancy punting a figure against me for a bit of fun??? Something to keep the thread exciting! biggrin

I think some OPC's had many more than others from what I can gather. Mine only had about 6 cars in total.

Aside from the model production numbers part, interestingly he also goes on to say that 'at least over the next couple of years, we will see both versions' as in atmospheric and turbo cars.
Could the next GT4 have a detuned version of the GT3 unit? Surely they won't keep making the current unit and add a power kit?
The performance gap between a new Cayman GTS would be nothing basically.

To me, Porsche have a long way to go with their turbo lag technology as the new 911 S is terrible in that area, to the point where i really think that they have got it wrong. I hated the thing.
There is no way that that tech can be added to a GT car unless they really have moved the game on significantly like Ferrari with the 488.

Sorry this is probably for another thread not this one!

Well Topaz had a GT4 in last week that the customer claims was the last UK build out of the factory, so unless anyone still has one to be built (not delivered) then quite possibly production has concluded for the UK market.

Thinking very hard about selling mine.
I've enjoyed it and driven 3800 road only miles but am hankering after a 997 GT3 RS Gen 2.
Either of the 7.2 RS or the 7.2 gt3 are far better cars imo. you won't regret changing the gt4 for either of them I think.

I love the GT4 and because I have pampered it and spec'd it from new I am loathed to let it go but I just want a bit more of an event if that makes sense.
I'm going to get a 991 GTS 2wd as a daily thats for sure as I love them and last of the non turbo's too.

I just don't know how to go about selling it? Place an ad on here or OPC? i don't want silly money for it so perhaps an ad on Pistonheads would be best.

Indeed i suppose I am although I have done 3800 careful miles in it and for its spec it will be one of cheapest in the country as a private sale!

Your no flipper at those miles . Nice to see some getting used . Recently sold mine back to dealer after 9 months and 4000 miles .

Dealer gave me a fair premium but could probably made another £8-£10k selling privately, but Im looking for a gen 2 GT3 , so you have to play fair.

If I wasn't looking for a future GT3 then I would have sold privately no issue via piston heads , but at least give your supplying dealer a chance to bid 1st .
