Porsche churn out so many GT variants now that having a Mexico Blue or Riviera car is no longer like owning a unicorn; in fact i'm actually a little tired of how unoriginal people have become in speccing PTS cars. If i'm not alone, there's a reason for the secondhand premium shrinking somewhat.
its because you see normal cars with PTS bling colours so Riviera and lava on normal base model cars ruins it a bit.I went to buy a 997 GTS in Riviera and when I tuned up it just looked rank, very over rated colour.
VooDoo on a GT4 looks stunning though, the darker solid colours work well on the GT4 and the launch colour is a show stopper in yellow.
If you are lucky enough to be able to order a GT car If you can order PTS I don't know why you wouldn't!
There a 991 Turbo Cab near where I live in Lava....doesn't work at all IMHO.

£2.8k for the main colours
Is this figure the same across the Porsche range? They have never as far as I am aware published a price for choosing a colour that isn't on the extended list, but as I understand it you will be ordering a hand finished Porsche Exclusive car out of Werk 1 for them to be doing that, so your car will be tens of thousands over base RRP and you will be a customer who doesn't care how much it costs.

I asked about a non standard, non approved colour and if it's not on the 'approved list' there is a 4-6 months process for you to send the colour to Porsche and they do a feasibility study (mix and spray some samples etc).
So on the GT4 given build slot I was told having a non approved colour no go but if I couldn't have that Mexico was my number 1 (as I like it balls to how many have it, if it's on a standard car etc).
I was told I could chose any colour from the approved list which included historic / other PTS that had already been applied / okd for that variant.
My local opc also mentioned that there was a very long lead time for non approved paint colours. When you speced up your gt4 did they offer you the option to have yellow harnesses to match the yellow stitching? Out of interest did you spec your car for future value and resale or did you build it to the spec you actually wanted with the plan of not selling straight after your purchase?
And specced for me and not resale 100% hence no phone, PCM etc (which many would want but I see as pointless. Never use phone in car and my phone nav with active routing is better than the crappy PCM - Porsche audio etc is absolutely appauling full stop!) I've had the car since March so def not a flip, low miles as its a weekend car. I use another in the week.
It's mostly been used for pointless drives or shopping - flame suit on :-)

I asked about black and yellow harnesses, was told no go (red only). I have yellow harness covers over the belts but TBH have never even done the belts up (just liked the cage).

Flaps of P155....don't worry about what people say on here. I remember reading about you zooming up to PEC in a Golf R ready to drive the GT4. Must have been a great experience spec'ing and collecting such a gorgeous car.And specced for me and not resale 100% hence no phone, PCM etc (which many would want but I see as pointless. Great ownership.....and a 'get out of jail free' card financially too!
Ill be honest Frankcayman was amazing especially as moved into dream house a few weeks before collection. Had a little man weep when she was back in the garage (humble proper p1key council background, kid at 16 blah blah).
All the talk about prices is frankly a bit pointless the market will settle (feels like it has). People I purchased my house off made £200k in 10 years etc and I still paid £75k less than they were asking, I didn't look at previous sale price or original purchase price and "think fk that I ain't paying overs, I want it for the price it was in 1990 when it was converted".
Makes me laugh though and proof certain people on these threads know absolutely jack st / key board warriors - "PTS wont sale for ages / cars aren't selling" yet I had 2 firm offers within 4 days within 97% of asking price. Glad to be able to withdraw from sale as would have been winter of regret! (back home now and withdraw button works on MY PC so should be down).
Anyone who wants to sell just price sensibly, which lets face it will still be somewhere between £10 and £25k overs spec dependent and it will sell - all cars can take time to sell for a myraid of reasons.

No phone Bluetooth is a killer daft move IMO though.
Should be legal in all new cars IMO and is bloody handy to say hold the dinner for 20mins stuck in a que.
I take 10+ calls a day in the car.
Each to their own, but sheeeiiit my chef has overcooked by tea a few times, if only I called them (her!) to tell them to hold a tea when I was late .... actually I work from home 85% of the time so I can smell it so I like many others don't need it as would never ever use.Should be legal in all new cars IMO and is bloody handy to say hold the dinner for 20mins stuck in a que.

So crazy daft for you perhaps but not for me and not for many others no doubt. Im the polar opposite see, never take calls when driving, especially not a weekend / occasional car, it can wait (many people I know the same have it as standard and never used). Other solutions just as good for the money quality wise if you really wanted and guess at least 2 others agreed it wasn't daft move when I briefly offered it for sale.
Standard on the golf R and the wife's civic,2 years use, never ever used it in either..... I often used to leave work early 7 or 8 years ago and do a conf call down the M5 (at speed) and one day I finished a call and thought fk I dont really recall the last 30 mins drive at all. That was the last call I ever made or took in a car and my phone stays tucked out of reach.

Yes my does that's the point of blue tooth :-) I think 99.9% of people will want to take a call without having to pull over stop and get the phone out.
IMO and it is only that blue tooth should be legal requiment and standard in any car, it's safer than abs !
I see 20+ people a day on phones in car/vans across white lines etc. It's quite shocking and all due to the lack of Bluetooth.
As people Will use a phone in a car while moving !
