VTS Tracker? I'd say this was a dealer principle purchase then, on behalf of the dealership (as they are legally bound to add the tracker); shameful by them.

It'd be mad not to have a tracking system on a GT4? My insurance company says I'd have to have one and proof of connection

VTS added a lot and also paint , I though GT Silver was only £558 because that's all it is now on a new Cayman !

good to see why it was or was not really a true £79k car. And is a £77k car.
I added up in my mind it was £76k but was out on the GT silver !

you got Platinum stitching free if you speced leather

if you wanted red or yellow it was an extra £800

What about this one?

I know it doesn't have PCM, but I don't really need it. Id like carbon as i have it now but no biggy. On longer trips Bose would be good as I have it now. Almost seems expensive compared to the GT Silver one previously discussed?
My old car . I spec-ed it new . About £74/£75k , All the essentials ( Buckets / Clubsport / Phone / Leather / SPP etc ) without going OTT . My view was PCM was not essential on a Clubsport car . It has Sound Package Plus which is the best you can get in GT4 ( No Bose available ) . Its the best price Clubsport out there. I sold it in August and have ran a Targa GTS and a Spyder since then and if I didn't have a Macan Turbo Performance Package coming in 4 weeks I'd probably have it back for a bit . Nice car . Called in for a look last weekend and my buying hand was twitching . PM me if you want any info .

And as for the GT silver car being better value ....I'm not so sure lots of expensive options Paint / Nav / Tracker / Stitching that I wouldn't pay for .

I doubt many of the regular posters on here with GT4's actually have trackers. I certainly didn't bother, I'd rather not have the car back if stolen and trashed thanks. Not all insurance companies require it, change insurer.

Yep, completely bonkers for anyone to pay £800 for a different colour of stitching considering it was added during the build, regardless of colour. Each to their own though.

Gt silver was 1595 as an option.

I am not aware of an extra alcantara 'package' !

Custard test!

why you asking me for a custard test ?

I have not stated any alcantara packs but there are options you can tick which were alcantara! and the only place for custard is on home made Apple crumble.
There are some nice alcantara exclusive options which I added to my own car which I feel is nice.
Other Alcantara options like Sun visors/ A pillars etc you could spend money on and in fact the DOOR TRIM alcantara Package :-)

In the 981 Spyder the costs are cheaper £1194 and £558 cannot be much difference material wise . The 918 seats in the Spyder from memory where about £1k cheaper than the GT4 .

He wasn't, but I think you know that!

Of course, there was an option for the visors and pillar etc too. Not sure the door card option added anything about from a bill for standard kit.

Nope i paid extra for the alcantara package.

Maybe it was a couple of grand over my car then but no more and even if it was by the time he takes and offer minus the commission the 'overs' isn't going to amount to much
I was meaning alcantara steering wheel etc which this particular car had optioned out. Most of the alcantara was free, aside from what I remember the door trim extension and various logos on the armrest. What alcantara did you pay for???
And more importantly how did you get 79 minus 74 to come out as 'a couple'?
Clearly I work in finance !

I hadn't seen the previous post .

Well at least after fees and some dealer wiggle he's grabbed a likely 4K . Shame he never really got to drive it though

Is there a new moon or something?
Everyone's chatting about cars amicably!!
Long may it continue! Refreshing to say the least!
My car is GT, buckets, leather, pcm, climate, sound etc, it came in at 76.5 so mid 70's sounds about right.

Had a good look around this last week. Dan has left me a couple of voicemails about it and I couldnt resist any longer. Has pretty much the spec I would want, like you say all the essentials. Although Carbon would have been nice but not a deal breaker. Lovely GT4, sadly just not the right time for me. I need to wait until February before seriously looking. and come to terms with spending 10k over list. Having bought a GT3 RS before the boom ive got used to not loosing money on cars.

We,ve spoken before at raby or whitton castle meet . You've a orange 997.1 haven't you .Still got it?

Ref over list , it can be hard to get your head around but I paid £10k over for the Spyder I bought after the GT4 . Bought with 190miles did 3000m including the NC500 and got my money back ( from a Porsche dealer ! ) I think a Clubsport GT4 is probably a pretty safe place at low £80's . Pending news on 991.2 GT3's delivery dates I'm very tempted to have this back for next spring .

Ahh . Didn't clock the GT silver mileage was so low . Can't believe people buy these and don't even get them run in before selling ......

Yes each to their own but having the standard platinum stitching with GT silver, white or red definitely looks insipid and red is the better choice although platinum is ok with black Sapphire blue or Agate grey.

Absolutely agree that everyone is different. Black leather with red stitching looks more Ann Summers than Rennsport to my eyes, I much prefer the more subtle platinum stitching which also blends in with the brushed imitation aluminium trim.

Christ we agree on something ;-)

Yes I think red stitching with extended leather especially on a red car sets the interior off ,
I went for red belts too but just couldn't bring myself to pay 160 quid for the red centre stripe on the steering wheel.

As an aside I think if the next GT3 isn't announced as manual option then they'll be a rush for GT4's again. Worth keeping an ear out for if your considering a GT4 purchase
