It was an Elise, yes, but an S1 in silver with a blue hood. Was it your GT4?
Sadly not GT4. I was in my 996 C2; first time at Anglesey, great place. Was this you following / passing me?

It is a great circuit, isn't it? I couldn't believe how few cars were there given that the day had been so heavily booked

That's why it's called a "free market" - it means you can do what you like
Unfortunately knowing what work goes into making an extra £5k, I'm not too keen on just dropping the price to under what it's 'worth'!Edited by worldwidewebs on Saturday 17th December 14:32

If I were to do that, does it not start to mess with the market in general?
Depending on how quickly you need the cash, I'd tend to take it off the market for a month or two. At least the market should be more readable by then?
I dunno if you'd be on your OPC's Xmas card list if you drop the sticker price by too much?

I don't really mind if I still own the car in 6 months, it would probably very comfortably sit in my dad's garage for him to enjoy some miles, I'd rather that than regret selling it too cheaply, plus as you mention the OPC probably are reluctant to price it down. I'll let it sit (it's already £5k under where they chose to start it) and see what happens in the next fortnight. At least the market should be more readable by then?

Of course that's completely up to you - all I was saying is you should choose the asking price , it's your call, no one else's - make it unquestionably the best value GT4 in the market and it will sell soon enough or leave it where it is and it may sell at some point - you pays your money and take your choice - good luck Shmee said:

By the way, +1 regards 5k not been easily acquired! It takes alot of knocking my pan in, in my business to net 5k tax free profit!! Mine might be for sale next year, I know the market will be the market, but there's no point undercutting if at all possible.
Though after a drive I think, na for the money what else is there.
You're up the ladder significantly I know!

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay, if it moves cause you dropped it a little thats what it's worth? The sale of one car isn't going to have a massive effect in market pricing.

I THINK THEY WILL TAKE £10000 HIT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS , WHERE CAYMAN GTS HASENT BEEN AFFECTED I HEAR THE DEMAND HAS GONE MAD CAYMAN GTS
You may be correct, it's clear there is a over supply of cars for sale with buyers looking to exit before they drop. This pattern seems to be forming in Europe as well.
If the gt4 takes a big hit (which I cannot see happening anytime soon)so will the Gts and everything below as market corrects its self!At the end of the day a GtS is only a 981s with extras apart from the stitching and 10hp as everything else could be ordered on regular 981s so prices of Gts long term will be only slightly above regular 981s ! Think along the lines of a black edition !Only the gt4/spyder are stand alone models over regular 981s both with unique engines to the 981 and the gt4 with its unique chassis and spyder its unique body !
Going forward If all future caysters are all flat 4 turbos then that means less than a 850 3.8 caysters yet thousands of 981 3.4 engined caysters to choose from and so how will that pan out ! I can only see 987.2 3.4 engined CR/ Spyder in demand in the distant future and yet less than 500 of those to choose from!

Full alcantara was not available on anything other than the GTS, plus the PSE is tuned differently. There is also the sound symposer on the GTS that feeds intake noise into the cabin. Small details, but lots of people love the small details. Don't forget that the GTS name itself is a brand with its own desirability. Finally, there are fewer UK GTS Caymans than GT4s - 50 more GT4s according to the latest DVLA figures. All this combined will keep residuals a fair bit higher than a 'regular' base or S model in my opinion, but time will tell.
