Looking at the mileages on the cars at the OPCs not many of them have been used much so clearly a lot of the owners have just been looking for a resale profit, seems a pity that they have deprived a lot of genuine drivers who I bet would have loved to have got one new and put some mileage on it without interest in the values . Just another money earner for the OPCs . Luckily I had mine from new and got 7.5 k miles on it in 10 months before moving it on without the profiteering .
So you didn't take a profit from your resale? I'm struggling to believe that, sorry.

Indeed, nice toy, but family and businesses take priority, so they tend to remain on low miles. Having said that, strong residuals help justify immaterial items such as these for those with a calculated brain; I personally couldn't rationalise such a luxury purchase otherwise.

I agree totally with the last few posts.
I'm a car enthusiast at heart, but not that much of an enthusiast to stomach or afford 15 or 20k depreciation a year!
My car certainly wasn't bought to make money- more as a more solid purchase of a great car.
I caught the car bug from my dad. Unfortunately his driving days are over.
I guess the lesson is we should find the time to drive the wheels off them more often!

What's the view on folding buckets as opposed to 918 ones.. I had the folding on my GT3 (the other ones were not available for UK GT3s) and found them very very good and also could be heated which I believe is not the case for the 918 type.

Also is the clubsport really important on the GT4 ? I had it on the GT3 as it was no cost option and the back just looked empty without, the GT4 being more compact I would have thought the need for it would be lessened ? 6points belt aside.. which I have to admit in my GT3 were a right pain.. also because the crotch one was well too short for a driving position near the steering wheel. Something that could apparently be rectified by ordering new ones from Schroth.

Not sure whether it's possible - I have seen the odd example on other cars - but can you fit inertia reels in addition to 6 point belts? As you say 6 points are a right old pain on the road.

I prefer the folding buckets to the 918 style and so ordered for my gt4 and I believe a few others did as well,I found the folding buckets a lot more comfortable. When the gt4 came out and European orders were first delivered a lot of owners were complaining about 918 style uncomfortable over long distances. The only advantage to the 918 style is height adjustment although I find the position of the folding buckets perfect for me.

the Gt2 buckets sit higher than the 918 style ones.
That matters for some. also the 918 style ones are lighter. by how much I dunno.

lastly, if you order clubsport there isn't a choice.

tbh, the CGT style ones in the older porsches are still the best (IMO) too bad they are not available for order new anymore.

I am assuming that this is a serious post... The only one that doesn't come with inertia reels is the track only racing car. All Porsche Clubsport road cars have inertia reels, moreover the car arrives at the dealers with the 6 points in a box for the dealer to fit or not as the customer prefers. Consequently {due to type approval} the car would be illegal to sell as new without inertia reels (though it is possible for an owner to subsequently delete them and have only harnesses due to the competition modifications clause in MOT requirements).

I wanted the hot chairs so that settled which seats it had to be no matter how more comfy or not the 918 option was going to be lick

Picked up mine from Cardiff this weekend, one of two being collected I believe.

Had no issues with the 918 seats on the 3.5 hour drive home and love the support and the low seating position.

I was in there first thing Saturday morning. Was yours the white one under the cover as you entered the OPC?

With seats it is all about finding the ones that suit you the best and no one else, like I said the 918 style I had a problem with and if it was not for the folding buckets being which I had tried and tested in my 987 spyder offered at a late stage I would have gone sports seats!

Looks stunning! I normally like alcantara but with the red contrast stitching those seats look superb and are definitely the most comfortable that Porsche make.

I quite like Riman's cheaper GT4. Good spec, only thing missing is the sport chrono but I think on the gt4 is purely cosmetic as transmissions mounts are standard and there wouldn't be a sport plus button anyways.. am tempted as a tide over to the next GT3 instead of the GTS I wanted to order.

So pay over the list for something I was offered at list but DKed or pay list for something that will depreciate. Especially with a lot of extras. Or do nothing keep the Speciale and just hope the GT3 production numbers will be good enough and I don't have to sweeten the deal with neither a new purchase nor a trade-in.

Keep the Speciale - buy a 981 Spyder - dynamically 95 % of the GT4 - 200% of the fun - springs coming smile

I got a very good deal on a fully specked Macan GTS from the same OPC , also I'm confident when the next Cayman GT comes along there will be one with my name on it
