Daft question, but where is best place to go to test drive a GT4? Only one i've been to view could not be test driven as was on SOR with low miles...

I suppose any dealership that owns the car outright. You may need to ask them first.

Nickz: thanks for that - should have known Porsche would think "commonality" - so the 997 frunk liner fits the GT4...

Presume the GT3 front end encroaches inboard more...

Having been without a GT4 now for about 6 months, I popped in the new and very impressive Bristol Rybrook setup this morning to the Lambo, McLaren, Rolls and Bentley showroom to have a mooch.
Spent some time sitting in various Huracans and 650S' plus the odd 458 and R8 V10.

I then went to the Porsche dealer around the corner and was greeted by a superb looking GT4 as I entered.
At about half the priced of almost everything else I saw and sat in today, the GT4 looked and felt every bit as special and more so, externally and especially in the cabin.

Its a total bargain even at overs prices and I think one of the best looking Porsches ever made.

interesting, I still have my GT4 and hadn't been able to use it much over the winter, but took it out the other weekend. It's such a well balanced package, not too big, not too small, not too fast, but fast enough etc. Lovely cabin, practical, but still special and so engaging to drive.

in contrast I've spend the last week or so running a 488 GTB, and by lord is that biblically fast. lovely car, very special, but to be honest I think I'm happy enough with the GT4 as I'd very quickly lose my licence if I ran a 488. I have come to realise that there is such a thing as too much easily accessible performance.

Really nice to hear peoples views from a 981 GTS to a 981 GT4.

I am a manual X73B GTS owner, it's a weekend car / summer. Always keep looking at the GT4, sitting in them at my local OPC, but have yet to drive one. I feel like above if i drive one I will probably want one but 30K to change is a fair amount.

Can you still drive them at PEC?

I doubt that they'll be at the PEC now although its possible as they keep a GT3? Call and ask.

Cheers Fella's. The wife has half a day booked there early May, I'll fire over an email to see if they have a GT4 available.

In the past it has cost £25k to £30k to change between generations ie from my 987.1cs which was less than 3 years old and low miles but still cost me £25k to change to a 987.2 Spyder and that was already discounted by £10k off list! I would say IMHO the extra cost is worth it especially as secondhand values of the 981 Gts are also quiet strong compared to a similar specs. 981S ! Might be worth selling Gts privately and cash buying a gt4 to reduce the gap!

Just to add if persons with 981 Gts are awaiting prices of the gt4 to fall the 981 Gts will do the same and so there will always be a price gap although as prices get lower the gap will get smaller but not by much

Cheers makes sense. I have messages OPC to see what the Gap would be, they haven 88K car. Only 7 BGTS at OPC and mine being Manual would be 1 of 2. Its just hit 5000 miles, 2015 car and its spec'd really well, id expect them to retail it around 60K. But i wouldn't get that.

Is there much discount on GT4s right now? I did think use mine for a bit more, sell August then wait until winter and get a GT4.

Don't think you will gain much by waiting until summer end ie best price for soft top would be now to June !
Still think best approach is to advertise privately now for a just below OPC price and see what happens especially as car still has transferable warranty and then perhaps look for/ advertise for a privately for sale gt4 yet again for best deal!

I expected that and would expected stabilised pricing, however I would have thought there would be more up for sale over the winter, hence possibly a better deal?

Or sell / part ex back through your dealer for a GT4 and hence form a better relationship to then perhaps and quite likely get the next Gen GT4 allocation for a car at RRP.

Absolutely, and why i'd take a GT4 over a 911 Turbo.

But i would take a 488 over a GT4 biggrin
