Not really, time and time again you hear PCCB offer much greater performance (and in some cased they do). One is allowed to question why people state these claims ? esp ona car like the GT4 which has the 991 RS 380MM iron disk set up which even AP said is over braked !
what you doing here again ? arguing for arguments sake :-p you don't even own GT4 ! or intend to buy one, so you must be here just to kick up the dust like normal !
David give it a rest and shut your cake hole. You're slipping back into idiot territory again... Just let people buy what they want, who cares if they're happy!what you doing here again ? arguing for arguments sake :-p you don't even own GT4 ! or intend to buy one, so you must be here just to kick up the dust like normal !

you guys come in 3's , I'll await the other at some point I guess, I would say either join the debate on the tech aspect of brakes or don't post but it will fall on deaf ears.Fokker said:

A lot of spec for whoever buys this car. I would be tempted by this car if my GT3 slot had failed.Porsche911R said:

Ceramics do offer more performance overall, the weight of the car is 20kg less. They don't offer more braking performance as that is tire limited but there certainly is an overall performance benefit.the easiest way to think about this is...
if costs are the same to replace, would you go PCCB?
leaving the less brake dust out of the equation.
That's why it is simply a financial decision.
And, nowhere did I mention you loved PCM. I simply said there was even less logic in owning it. (or kinda what I meant.)

I said that because I thought David had said that PCM was essential to a decent sale price on a GT4 --- if it was somebody else it adds up to the same. Look how few do not have PCM ...if costs are the same to replace, would you go PCCB?

James drives his 3.8 Spyder so well .. we have played a very fast game at a number of UK circuits .. setting my PCCB's GT4 against his Steel braked Spyder. Yes the Spyder steels are smaller, but why not ask him which brakes he wished he had specced ??
We all know there is far more to tactility, balance, grip and resilience ... than outright g force. Equally the cost of a set of ST discs which are far superior to the standard PCCB's is around £9k ... I'm going to prove that those will last a lifetime of track days. The PCCB's will be set aside for the sake of future originality ...
This is my choice and I will be more than happy to share the results ... and passenger rides ... my GT4 is still a road / track car !

To be fair Chris, David did say previously that he added PCM for resale purposes only, although when he did put the car up for sale he didn't actually sell it.James drives his 3.8 Spyder so well .. we have played a very fast game at a number of UK circuits .. setting my PCCB's GT4 against his Steel braked Spyder. James would definitely have preferred better brakes as he has now passed the car on to his wife as track work was killing the brakes and proving rather expensive. He now has a Honda S2000 to play with and modify. Although I suspect he would like a Radical SR8 after a passenger stint recently at Anglesey.
