12 GT4's for sale on PistonHeads and growing
Discussion
When are people going to realise that Dealers are not interested in morals or the wellbeing of enthusiasts? They are not charities. They want money. Money comes from selling cars and reselling cars over and over again. Given a choice between selling a car to an enthusiast who buys one car in 5 years or a flipper who will transact many more times, who do you think they will sell to? Doesn't make it right of course, but that's the reality of the Porsche dealer mind set it would seem...
In reality most of us would jump at the chance of a 911r- affordability aside!
To have any chance of getting 1 I'm sure you'd have to trade your Gt4 in.
I can't see an Opc giving a 40% mark up on a 75k list car, especially against an R- why would they?? There has to be a huge demand for them.
How limited will they be? Though I'm sure they won't be twice as enjoyable as the GT4 for the like for like estimated list price.

Nearly all UK OPCs would always sell to the enthusiast.....and rightly so. Don t forget anyone flipping a car outside the Porsche network will be blacklisted and unable to buy another new Porsche. Porsche have an in house team tracking all sales and anyone flipping a new GT car will only have the one opportunity to do so.......At what point does the sale of a car become a used car sale as opposed to a flip?
In my mind a flip is a cynically specified car with very few miles (below 100) and turned round within a few days/weeks of delivery, and if it's through the supplying OPC then pretty damm immoral.
Cars with more miles up, more personally specified and or a bit more age. I don't see as flipping, more a case of profit taking whilst the market is strong. Good luck guys is my reaction to that, if your relationship with your OPC is strong enough that you are confident that you can order the next trinket and get an allocation then nice one.
Anything over a 1000miles is absolutely no issue at all. Plenty of time to decide if you like it or not, decide what it's worth to you and act accordingly.
When I open the garage door and jump into mine I get into a £110K asset regardless of what I paid for it and I make my value judgements based on that simple fact.

I don't think a few miles will make much difference 6 months down the line. Maybe now it does when there's a few cars available and you can choose.
I was thinking ahead 20 plus years, and given prices of CSL and older rarer 911s, I can see the GT4 being worth a real packet.
Loving mine, moist can't find anywhere to really push it and no plans on tracking it

Head to the A470 in Wales and around North Wales Porthmadog via Beddgelert to Betws Y Coed and the Evo triangle... Plenty of places to push it there!I was thinking ahead 20 plus years, and given prices of CSL and older rarer 911s, I can see the GT4 being worth a real packet.

I read on the GT4 FB page today where someone said that Porsche owned dealerships such as Reading and Guilford are now not allowed to sell a car such as a GT4 or a GT3 at inflated premiums and they have to now sell at list until the car is 12 months old? Has anyone else heard this?
They simply won't get offered any for sale if this is the case and if they do end up with one, they'll just have to pick the phone up and call their customer of choice and will sell in in minutes...Where that customer may flip for a profit!
Maybe this is Porsche trying to police the situation. I can't see it working personally because they can't police the third party dealers as well which is where all the cars will end up and not in the Porsche used network...

I don't believe that for a minute, talk about shooting yourself in the foot! It's not a bad thing for Porsche that their GT cars are so much in demand, surely they could ramp up production if they wanted to kill the speculators? They simply won't get offered any for sale if this is the case and if they do end up with one, they'll just have to pick the phone up and call their customer of choice and will sell in in minutes...Where that customer may flip for a profit!

I spoke to a dealer, who said they are trying to avoid selling low/no mileage cars at significant overs - they feel it is not going to be appreciated by a lot of clients who did not get cars They simply won't get offered any for sale if this is the case and if they do end up with one, they'll just have to pick the phone up and call their customer of choice and will sell in in minutes...Where that customer may flip for a profit!

This one looks identical to the car 911Sport were selling a few weeks ago which apparently sold!!!
Lovely car but standard seats always seemed odd with the PCCB's guess it was SOR and the owner has taken it to an OPC to see if they have better luck?

Is it a sign that we are seeing a gradual fall in overall GT4 prices looking at sone's car which hasn't sold at £104,950 for a fully loaded CS car!
My finance broker on my GT4 (who I hear some of you have spoken too) said that he is getting a lot of calls from people looking to fiance GT4's at 105-115k so it's reasonable to figure that the second hand market need to buy from dealers/traders in order to finance them and the private add sellers are losing out because of that?
sone it may be worth selling via JZM or similar and taking the 5% hit which may net you a similar amount as you're trying to get privately as you're spec car would go quite quickly at 110k at JZM et al imho!

standard seats go well with PCCB imo, PCCB are better for road user and will last the life of the car, so cheaper over all if you are a keeper and want nicer seats to sit it or are at an age you don't want buckets.Lovely car but standard seats always seemed odd with the PCCB's guess it was SOR and the owner has taken it to an OPC to see if they have better luck?
I think CS pack and PCCB are the odd choice.

JZM prob want £850 listing fee and 8% of the sale so £9250, may as well put it up for £95k and get it gone if you want it gone.My finance broker on my GT4 (who I hear some of you have spoken too) said that he is getting a lot of calls from people looking to fiance GT4's at 105-115k so it's reasonable to figure that the second hand market need to buy from dealers/traders in order to finance them and the private add sellers are losing out because of that?

But as I said in my other posts imo CS spec cars are not that sort after new, maybe in 5 or 6 years time when people want a cheaper track hack yes, but CS pack OPC sales are very low, my OPC only selling one. who wants a 15kg rattle lump of iron in a road car ? very few people, normally just forum wanna be's :-)
I don't get the CS hype and it's the flippers choice it seems, some stating they will fetch £10k over a non CS pack car lol
