However, if the car had been offered at £105k, the queue would be non existent.
This is doubtful......remember this is a car which toppled the mighty RS in Ecoty......and there are many more buyers with c £105k to spend than c £150k on the GT3. Never ceases to amaze me how many spec a 'cooking' non GT Carrera to over £100k with needless options.
Completely agree with this, took the words out of my mouth!
People need to stop getting hung up on one magazine giving it their coty. People do realise that there are other driving mags?

Porsxhe could sell the car here for 105k list but would the rest of the world pay the same given that porsche appear to have a flat cost rate
I think there is an appetite to pay more for cars like the GT4 I don't think they would have had an issue even if they priced this car at £85k list with options taking it to 90-100k! The problem they have is they can't have such a huge jump from the Cayman GTS to the GT4 for some reason, same with the GT3, whether it's marketing or not they seem to have to be reasonably small jumps up between models!

Back on topic - new price for a CS car from JZM here http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Basic spec but quite a lot less...
That is very low..... Are we seeing the market waning?

Why have JZM decided to price their CS car so low as far as I can see there was no need?

The owner could have sold it privately for the same if not a touch more? He's going to take a 5% bath on that price too!

Seems a little strange.

Leather fuse box cover AND 6CD!

The ultimate!! biggrin:
Heavy spec. Leather door sills and all. Just missing CS!

Wonder why it isn't on for £115k....
and the JZM one at 93k with one pretty similar spec with 100 miles at the same place is on for 99.9k.... I guess the owners need a quick sale or the market be a waning!

My point was aimed at the JZM cars - 6k difference pretty similar specs - It must be driven by the owners rather than the dealers!

What a pointless advert then.

No cheaper than the rest.
I'm not sure why you think anyone would randomly sell their GT4's at 20k less than everyone else? Its just an advert for foreign markets!

From what I've seen on these forums it's always the same type of person that praises the GT4 as the be-all-end-all of Porsches and " a solid investment": the type who stretched for a GT4 but wouldn't have bought one if it followed the same depreciation curve as other Porsches, i.e. normal Caymans or Boxsters.
Ironically so many people seem to think this way that Porsche is still pumping them out like nobodies business... in *ahem* limited numbers. laugh
Well aren't we full of the joys of spring......

Who cares why people bought them, some will drive and enjoy, some will sell immediately, some will store away as a future classic.... I don't care what people do with their cars, they were fortunate enough to get an allocation so in my mind they can do what the hell they like with them.... There is far to much hate and angst on this forum and there's no need for it!

Pretty amusing how touchy some get at the slightest suggestion that the (frankly loony) overs situation on their precious gt cars might not hold.
Must be another bored person who doesn't own one. Majority of people who own one do it to enjoy a great car.
A great car, which £ for £ is hard to beat irrelevant of overs or not; quite frankly I couldn't care less if the overs are there or not I bought this car as it is in my view the best road car around in my price bracket. Porsche make some if not the best road cars sub 150k and quite honestly I think a large amount of people agree hence the "market" values these cars more than Porsche sell them for!

I have no idea why people want to berate owners for something they have no control over, the only angle I can see is jealousy which is a sad state of affairs!

People get way too touchy when their cars are criticised. Per above it's not that owners are being criticised for the overs situation but rather the fact they get awfully sensitive to any suggestion that it might not hold/increase etcetc....

and trotting out the jealousy argument so quickly really is quite laughable.
I don't see anyone getting touchy about what the market is doing... I just see owners getting annoyed at being berated by the likes of you and others for merely owning the car.... You just come across as a being bitter for little to no reason which rightly or wrongly leads one to assume you didn't get a car and your annoyed with those that did!

I've already been offered a serious number over 6 figures for mine (and I haven't actually taken delivery as yet and had no intention of selling) so people are spending the money
Was that from your supplying dealer or have you been contacted via PH?

Just seen this one on PH....

Thought it a strange spec LWB, PCCB's, CS, Sport Chrono, PCM but standard finish interior with the anthracite look finishing so its a very dark looking interior! I would have thought the extended interior would have been a dip in the ocean based on the overall cost of this spec.

I agree with you, a sham really and might hamper the sale but it'll go at some point. They've put some miles on it too which is nice to see!
Or as it now known as 911 R interior spec... or is the 911R interior poverty/basic spec too ??
One would imagine the weight number on the R is going to be all important to Porsche so anything that added weight was probably not included on the launch spec! One would also imagine some/most of the very luck owners will add it as an option as it looks much nicer IMO!

Or maybe one could imagine that the fact that Porsche launched the 911R this way means that they know what their prospective clients want from this car ? Possibly one could also imagine that deviated stitching is not so important to said clients ? Just imagine for an awful moment if extended leather is not an option...

Do you think anyone would buy one ??

Not entirely sure what you're driving at. (MY OPINION) I prefer the interior of the GT4 with the extended leather, if it makes no difference to you then I'm very happy for you and you can save some money on the spec of your car! I guess that's why its an option and not part of the base spec so people can chose what they want to their taste!

Great news all round there...Just goes to show that they listen to their customers and rightly so.

They said when the 991 GT3 was announced that the manic nature of the GT3 motor won't suit the manual gearbox and it has to be PDK...

Not so it seems any more.
It may just be that you end up doing a lot more gear changes wink
