R, some have claimed a number of OPCs are to receive up to 15 cars but I remain unconvinced.....unless anyone can specifically state which......I know for a fact that 4 are receiving between 9 and 11 max and 2 of these receive the greatest allocation as with the GT3.
Have sent you a PM - may not have worked as I didn't get a copy ? Edited by RSVP911 on Saturday 6th February 17:59

yet they are hanging around. Wonder if it's just the season?
Winter clearly not the ultimate cab selling season.A few hitting the market have also been bizarre spec e.g. the Romans GT silver fair spec but no PCM....although that has now sold as has the black comfort spec OPC car ap £89950 sold quickly.

The spec on my Spyder is still open until 18th Feb so I have the choice of going with PCM but now more than ever it seems like a crazy option - paying £3K for 7 year old PCM3 technology when Porsche have now moved on to PCM4.
True but as discussed many times before if you are keeping the car say over 5 years PCM probably not worth speccing if you are not bothered yourself but if you sell within 5 years the car would be worth some £3k less anyway and be harder to sell as the Romans car demonstrated.av185 said:

Not sure the Romans car demonstrated that necessarily. More likely the time of year. It's a tough choice. I definitely don't want it but then I haven't kept a car longer than 12 months in 30 years of driving!
I'll stick to CDR+.

Weird - it was an epic piece of prose - I will try re writing it and sending it from my desktop - they don't seem to work from remote devices anymore
I not getting pm's either. I emailed them about it and apparently there is an issue but they're taking ages to sort it out. Fokker said:

Ah I see - thats a pain - I've just spent ages re trying it - accidentally hit send before I could copy it just in case (a such, AV if you get it its missing the end bit - sorry !) - I give up !!!! AV - can you try PM me as I can then try and send to your proper email - I realise yours may not get to me either : in truth its not that bloody important - It's a bit like when you tell a joke and you cock it up so many times that its never worth the wait - I'm going to drink a bottle of red .................

The entire point being that the specialised cars to a great extent are not Daily drivers. Exceptions abound of course.
Completely agree with you.
My original mail also made the point that Porsche, as far as Spyder and GT4 are concerned, are pushing us into spending £3K on a 7 year old PCM3 option which has already been superseded by PCM4.
There's absolutely no way that I would be ticking that box in specifying a Spyder or GT4 today - which I am.

If its the same nav thats in my late 2013 S its alright but tbh I rarely use it as I rarely leave the north east lol ! I was a bit concerned when my Spyder didnt have it as I wasnt sure if the actual head unit/dash would look different but its the same just the nav button has no function not sure if you get anything else ? I did notice Spyder doesnt have the Jukebox function but not sure if that is a Bose thing? anyway if its just nav when collecting my car and driving the 320 mile home on roads I didnt know I used the google maps app on my iphone for the first time and must say thats loads better and free so on that basis if thats all you get theres not a chance I would pay £3k for it

Accepting that PCM3 is a rip-off - I'm not convinced that the PCM4 deal is really any better. What has happened on the 718 is that SPP and mobile phone module have been included as standard, the price of the car has been put up £2k and the price of the nav module is now a (more acceptable to the market) £1k. So you still pay £3k - just you don't any choice on £2k of it. At least before you could get a mobile phone and SPP separately at £446 and £396. I've not seen PCM4 in action yet - and sure the interface looks sexier - but I'm not sure how much better it really is.My original mail also made the point that Porsche, as far as Spyder and GT4 are concerned, are pushing us into spending £3K on a 7 year old PCM3 option which has already been superseded by PCM4.
