Accepting that PCM3 is a rip-off - I'm not convinced that the PCM4 deal is really any better. What has happened on the 718 is that SPP and mobile phone module have been included as standard, the price of the car has been put up £2k and the price of the nav module is now a (more acceptable to the market) £1k. So you still pay £3k - just you don't any choice on £2k of it. At least before you could get a mobile phone and SPP separately at £446 and £396. I've not seen PCM4 in action yet - and sure the interface looks sexier - but I'm not sure how much better it really is.
The price of the 718 has increased mainly because Porsche are realigning the new Boxster over the new Cayman in terms of model hierarchy which will be the cheaper car when it arrives.More money for Porsche from the more popular of the two cars.Edited by bcr5784 on Sunday 7th February 11:29

Accepting that the Boxster will be pricier than the Cayman (it always was a nonsense the other way) - if there is a significant difference that would imply quite a drop in the real price for the Cayman, which strikes me as a bit unlikely.apachesmith said:
Took the words out of my mouth - surely with a roof the chassis is better equipped to handle more power than the rag top?
While that is strictly true - but the Boxster was only given a nominal 10 hp less the Cayman because Porsche decided to "position" the Cayman above the Boxster. . I suspect (but have no definitive information) the comparable Caymans and Boxsters will have the same power as is the case with open and closed 911s. Track orientated versions like GT4 successors, will, I suspect remain Caymans for the reason you state. sone said:
For info my car now sold (deposit taken). Plenty of interest, a few people who called to ask questions that were already answered in the ad, which is strange. 2 dealer offers on purchase which I declined and 3 dealers offering to SOR the car.
Now what next(-:
Did you sell it to a private buyer or a trader? Now what next(-:
Well done didn't take that long did you need to lower the asking price?
If you want more power then 991GT3, great car and I would love one! I'm going the other way however and looking at Spyders as I want something I can use more as a road car than a track car and something the wife will be happy driving!

Use the profit you made to finance a mclaren 570s if they are still offering that 1k/month deal. Now what next(-:

I think he wants flappy paddle so the Porsche won't be to his taste. There is however a very well spec'd black 991 GT3 in Cardiff OPC. Its the best value on the market at the moment for a club spot car that I can see, one 2k miles and black suits the 991 GT3 very well indeed. This car looks awesome in the flesh...http://www.top555.co.uk/stock/details/Porsche-911-...

Interestingly, this thread is called 12 GT4's for sale on PH and growing... Started on Dec 3rd and still about 10-12 cars for sale... Its not exactly growing is it?!
Well it was at the time! Started with a couple and grew rapidly to 12 cars, but yes it seems to have steadied now to a constant of between 10-12 cars for sale!franki68 said:

Sold the car for a couple of grand less than I advertised, but cash buyer no messing about. No McLaren for me I'm afraid, I've got a Huracan for tooling about in.

I've had three GTR's and whilst they're a lot of fun on the road they are way too heavy on track. Possibly a 991 Gt3 next but on the other hand might go and try a Caterham 620r, atom, Nissan Gtr for a while. Who knows(-:
Funny thing, I was chatting to a colleague about a 620R yesterday. They do appeal.

after 12 years of driving them I sold my Caterhams to replace them with a track car and a Porsche as Caterham is heavily compromised as a road car and last Cat was an R500 and that was just too quick to have any fun on track so did neither job really.
620 R / S is just mental.
