Thread hijack by Mr Demon. And Moose smile

How many on here who bought at list would also buy the car at £105k? Not many I suspect.

Will Porsche price the GT4.2 at near £100k? I don't think so - it is a strange market we are in.

If Porsche released just 100 more GT4's ......

they did release a so called another 150 cars !

but yes I would NOT buy at £105k and I would not Buy the GT4 new at £75k if it were going to drop 40% over 3 years either, I would buy a 2 year old one.
I never buy new cars, it's a mugs game, the GT4 allowed me to own a new car with no loss.

However, if the car had been offered at £105k, the queue would be non existent.
This is doubtful......remember this is a car which toppled the mighty RS in Ecoty......and there are many more buyers with c £105k to spend than c £150k on the GT3. Never ceases to amaze me how many spec a 'cooking' non GT Carrera to over £100k with needless options.
Completely agree with this, took the words out of my mouth!

look the cheapest S 2011 under 20k miles is £33k FFS show me a 25k car the same era as a R, the R is quite a small bit extra, buying seats and wheels on a S comes to more than a R costs !!!

you have no clue do you really ?

I think we all agree it's too early to say what the gt4 value is going to do over the next 3-4 years! however as I have said before there are very few if any cars at 100-105k new that are mid engined, lightweight, well built, manual, exciting cars.... That's why people are happy to shell out 100k for them not because of some perceived value ladder! Sure you can buy an 8-9 year old GT3 for the same money but then it's not a new car may not have warranty blah blah blah..... Unless like some have suggested you go down the American route (which isn't for me) the car is in a class of its own even at 100k let alone At 75k which most builds seem to be at! People who didn't get an allocation will try and justify it negatively and people who did get an allocation will do the opposite! However if anyone can tell me a (NEW) car in right hand drive that is comparable then I'm all ears! And if anyone say Lotus.... Lovely handling but not in the same league build quality wise and having a Japanese engine in it does ruins the whole thing for me, so I don't take that as valid competitor!

I wonder are the Ferrari and Lambourgini forums as argumentative and value driven as ours? I'm very sure we all love cars for the driving pleasure and we all appreciate not all will have the same view on what makes the car special but it would be great if we could just let people buy and sell what they want at what ever price they feel makes sense and concentrate on the driving thrills we all get from our cars! Would love if someone was planning a long road trip if they documented it on here so we could all hear their impressions of the GT4 over a long distance on some interesting roads!

People need to stop getting hung up on one magazine giving it their coty. People do realise that there are other driving mags?

Porsxhe could sell the car here for 105k list but would the rest of the world pay the same given that porsche appear to have a flat cost rate

I think there is an appetite to pay more for cars like the GT4 I don't think they would have had an issue even if they priced this car at £85k list with options taking it to 90-100k! The problem they have is they can't have such a huge jump from the Cayman GTS to the GT4 for some reason, same with the GT3, whether it's marketing or not they seem to have to be reasonably small jumps up between models!

Interesting that the JZM car is now sub £K 100 - club sport , but no leather - I can't see the majority of these cars being > £K 100 very soon.

However , as others had said - sun has been out today - surely someone can chat about the driving instead - I took the opportunity to go out in this today , great fun : small , agile , manual , sounds amazing , with lovely power delivery though out the rev range - just keeps delivering - not a GT4 obviously , but similar in some respects smile

I see someone's put a deposit down on the £115995 black car at 911 sport!
Still only about 11 cars for sale. Will be interesting to see what happens after 1st March.

JZM car is down to 99k but no leather. This does seem to make a difference to resale.

What are you expecting post March 1st - increase in supply / reduction in prices or increase in prices as season commences or the two things offsetting each other ?

Oh heck , accidentally posted another gratuitous shot - sorry !

what would you rather have a 991.1s or a gt4 at same price point?
personally I would not have paid over £80k for a gt4 or any car as a matter of fact as way to expensive for my taste but i was lucky to secure at list but i can fully understand why someone would pay £100k as said above nothing else at that price point.
personally i think the gt4 is should have been more £80k base ie midway between 991.1 and 991.1gts.
Imo i think the gt4 second hand prices will always be better than a 991.1s maybe on par with a 991.1gts or slightly better but then who really knows but in the meantime i am enjoying a great value car but then gt cars have always been a good package and great value

Update on this topic 26 GT4's have now been listed on Pistonheads (some more than once through multiple dealers) and 11 appear to have been sold. Club sport with Full Carbon Buckets seem to have sold quickest for highest prices.

Currently 12 GT4's for sale on Piston Heads with 4 being added today!

To date only one looks to have sold via JZM, the other seem to be hanging around. Is this a sign that people aren't willing to pay the over inflated prices on these cars or people are just biding their time to see where the market goes when all of the cars have been delivered?

Also this has to be an eye opener to Porsche that a good number of the early cars that have been delivered to their favored customers are straight to re-sale? I'm surprised the 20-30k increase in price on these cars is enough to make people sell these cars especially given how rare they are and how good they seem to be!

Gratuitous pics welcome! Yes I was just wondering what might happen as my local dealer has about 2 or 3 in waiting to go out on 1st March. Some have been sitting there since end Dec. I guess we'll see a couple more for sale but not expecting prices to fall. Well spec'd cars will command good prices. Those that are less well spec'd will languish a while. Same old situation. I have a bit of a desire for a 997.2 gt3 CS at some point so I'll see what the 4 is like and may look at one later this year. The 4 might be that good though that I don't want to chop it in. Time will tell.

Does anyone own both / driven both to offer a comparison? I expect the 7.2 is a much more hardcore experience that the gt4?
