Probably not allowed to post a link but they’re in the Marketplace/parts and plates section. Although they might be sold already?
I've just spent 5 minutes trying to find the the classified section for parts ... rolleyes

Back in "the good old days" it used to be obvious and easy to navigate to that section. Not so much now ...

Do you have a link to the parts section of the classifieds please ?

I think they've removed the classifieds section, all I can find now is https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forumgroup.asp...

Took me a while to figure out where the parts for sale had been moved to, but think the new place is better/easier to use for both seller and buyer.

All the best with your next car adventure. Was yours the one with the plaid retro seat inserts and were those up for sale - I didn't spot them in the listings.

You are pretty much bang on at £24K.
With commission, its mileage, comfort seats and non-manual I am not sure if its a good deal or not. Probably is vs what an S of similar price would get you.

Does anyone know which headunit this is that's in the CC Cayman R? I want something that has Android Auto but for me it must look like a factory unit. This looks ideal. Nothing on it to say what it is, which is great in terms of the look I want, but does make it tricky to identify.

That looks like one of these?

Yeah, looks like the one. I've now ended up down a rabbit hole of these. There are quite a few versions of this head unit it seems with various processors, amounts of RAM etc. Alibaba has quite the selection.

I am tempted though. I'm sure they aren't the last word in quality, but they look the part and I've found some positive write ups on various forums. Plus I'm not looking for perfect sound or anything, just Android Auto for Waze and music streaming etc, and a phone functionality that doesn't mean you have to send contacts to the car to get caller ID with an incoming call - the CDR30 may have been fitted to cars in 2011, but it was ancient technology even when new. The research continues.

I have one with the same guts in my Skoda. It's fine for that purpose, but there's a number of niggles that would stop me having it in the Porsche. Random static from the speakers when not playing audio. Finicky software and several 'layers' of UI (standard android, the bespoke UI they put on it, then the android auto layer that I actually use). And I can't get the dab working g nicely despite 2 aerials

Have a look at the sony XAV units, or pioneer do some even slicker (and more expensive) ones. You need a facia surround but they blend right in and look good.

Alternatively if you've got £1200 Porsche now do the PCCM android/car play compatible head unit available as a retrofit.

The official Porsche update only works if you already have PCM though.?
If you’ve only got CDR then you’re stuck with aftermarket options and trying to find a surround that matches the factory “grey”’is hard

I think it's only available up to 987.1 at the moment?

Interesting, thanks for the feedback. With many variations of what is essentially the same unit, I am curious if the issues you'd had would be the same. The static noise is interesting as I get that from the factory CDR30 in my car. Always have. Only turning the head unit off stops it (volume right down does not). I've read this is pretty normal and Porsche told me the same. Unsurprisingly. The UI of the one I was looking at uses Andoid 13 which came out late 2022. Do you know what version the one you had was?

I'd prefer something like a nice Sony unit, but I haven't been able to find any facia which would make one look suitably factory. If I could, I might be more tempted. I just hate the look of aftermarket radios, so illogical as it may be, if I can't make it look factory then I wont both. DAB doesn't overly bother me. Normally the sound of the car is what I'm enjoying, but I'd like to be able to put routes onto a screen when I'm on road trips and be able to use the phone without sending numbers to the ancient CDR30 unit so it knows who's calling. Music streaming for the slow bits of drive would be nice too.

Yeah, it is only for .1 atm and it is also a ridiculous cost for a pretty basic unit. If it were £600 and came as a DIY kit for .2, I'd maybe be tempted.

I went a different route to obtain better call, waze and music streaming whilst keeping the OEM head until.

You can see a short video of the functionality on the Cayman R fb group.

Sadly needs the car to already have PCM, otherwise that's the route I'd go.
