Guys what's the view on pricing for these? Porsche seem to suggest putting it up in track season? Say someone say they think high spec cars are about 48k at the moment... ok mines PDK and up for 42.5k should I be putting this up a little now?
What do you think if its not sold at 42.5k?!
rofl
I think it's a bad time of year to try and sell one but to follow where the market is

If you can by them from Porsche for similar money with no stone chips, good tyres all round, full service, 2 year warranty etc etc I'd respectfully suggest a private sale should be at least 5k cheaper for an older car. A good car at a fair price will sell at any time of the year. In your shoes I'd be reducing to 39,995 and you'll probably find a decent Indy like 911V will pay you similar top money for one so why go through the hassle of having chancers/test drivers turn up to your front door step?

Nice as they are I don't think I could pay list for a 6 year old Cayman R and they're not exactly hard to get hold of.

Interesting, so the fact Porsche will pay nearly what you have stated now means that it's not worth lowering the price, they have a few for sale above £45k and have already said would be looking to list mine above that as is has no chips, good Tyra all round etc etc, do you track this market?

No not at all just a general observation which applies to selling most cars. Putting the price up when your car hasn't sold at 42.5 is as cunning as Baldric. Good luck with your sale

The question is, are THEY selling their cars ? Judging by the comments on the various threads on here, I suspect not.
Demon's adamant PDK's aren't selling, and the car's that are currently on the market (and have been for some time) would tend to indicate he may have a point.

Yep would agree they are not selling, Even Porsche have said they don't tend to sell the Pdk ones until track season, manuals sell all year as they tend to be more for collectors who do very little mileage

If your car doesn't have buckets/chrono/PSE prepare for disappointment.

I've seen Andys car, it is truly stunning and I'm pretty certain it has the buckets, PSE and all the usual spec that everybody wants. I hope he gets luck with selling it, no doubt may time they will be selling well again. I'd say it's just the time of year...

I run a Lotus dealership and I can assure you its not quiet at the moment so nothing to do with time of year. The R market is a little fickle we've had periods where things have heated up and some where even well specced cars were struggling to get 40k. I notice one of the specialists still has that red one that's been on stock for about a year.

I've got one!

I think I've seen about 5 others come up for sale over the last few years...but I'd have thought that there's more than 6 out there.

Right, back to lurking... whistle

I sold my R privately back in November for £1K less than the asking price so buyers are out there (plus the usual chancers offering £5K less 'to do me a favour') . Basalt black manual car with the usual 'must haves'

Thinking of getting one Slippy?

When I started looking for mine, about a year ago, there were a couple of Guards cars for sale (both PDK). I was very tempted to buy one of them which was at Colchester OPC but then my white one came up at a great price. So snapped it up. smile

If that's sold it must be in the last couple of weeks. It was on the market when I last sold an R which was 12 months ago

About six of us there in Cayman Rs. Me and Kevin in PDKs and the others in manuals..so you'll have plenty of choice. Just look for the garage surrounded by Rs and GT4s smile

Steve. Not sure if I'm taking the R or the Boxster as I need to bed in some discs, pads and tyres and give it a general try out after much work done.
