No, because we can all spot the customer from hell. I'd love to recommend you to our competitors, their customer service is perfect for you.

Oh yes, those...

...just waiting to hear back from PGB as to what their £500 repair remedy consists of, as they didn't explain the other day.

I'm just not worthy, or perhaps I can't be arsed to fight for my rights. They are slightly rusty bolts for fks sake. I guess that's grist to the mill for the professional complainer. Wow how it all goes so wronng for some people. 118k. I am nothing.

Slightly rusty bolts. Doesn't anyone understand the importance? They are (slightly) rusty after all. And a tiny bit of rust is really important. I have rights. FFS I am important. Don't you know who I am?

Had a call from the OPC service manager today, just checking everything went well at the first service last week. We had a good natured chat about that and the bolts during which he said that painting them or wire brushing them "will not work" and added he'd be happy to throw some money into the pot, along with PGB's goodwill offer, of which he was unaware, to assist in the proper repair for rusty calliper bolts which is to replace the calipers. He thought it possible the damage may have been caused during Porsche GB's ownership of the car for its first six months.

He'll speak to PGB and we'll see what they can come up with.

Good job I didn't get to work with the wire brush after all, if it won't work!?

It's pleasing to see how a measured, polite, approach can extract the best from an OPC.

Totally amazing HOW some just can't seem to accept that someone cares enough about a certain issue to actually DO something about it.

It even seems to infuriate them further if that person actually manages to successfully DO something about it.

I would have though that rusting bolts on ANY car around two years old is simply unacceptable, add in that they are on the brake calipers and someone should have a case to answer.

Perhaps it is their realisation they are either too STUPID or LAZY to be able to DO something about it that infuriates them so, just as well it is easier to ridicule or mock than actually DO something.

More power to your elbow chum, rest easy in the knowledge that some may even benefit from your actions.

bks, there'll be rusty bolts on most cars within 6 months, the difference is you can't see them. Heat + steel = rust. Coatings only last so long.
"Add in that they are on the brake calipers" - yes? Your point being? A little surface rust on the head of a bolt isn't any cause for concern at all.

Which is the OP's point - he can see them, so wants it fixed.
Fix what? They're not faulty.

I saw this rather lovely black 991 C2 in Tankerton today whilst enjoying a walk along the coast, and I thought "that is odd, it doesn't have any rear wheel arch liners"... AND THEN I SAW A MORE AWFUL PROBLEM:

Put me right off the whole car

Mmm, theres a lot of rust on the edges of your brake disc.

I would raise this with god himself.

...and on the hub around the wheel bolt holes. This can cause mis-alignment of the wheels and lead to the car self steering off the road. Insurance would be invalid due to failing to properly maintain the vehicle. A charge of dangerous driving would no doubt follow.

I'd have them replace all the hubs.

Just going to take my wheels off now, and check mine...
