I test drove that one. Think you will find it is Lava Orange...I am giving Guards some serious consideration before lockdown on my Cayman.
I don't know whether you knew but the brochure for the car gives (at least) another couple of colour options over the configurator - including sapphire blue and mahogany. Whether they are genuinely available or not I don't know - might be worth asking what colours ARE really available.bcr5784 said:

Thanks for the heads up there but I was aware of this but according to the brochure (downloaded from the Porsche UK web site) the Sapphire Blue is only provisonally available from Nov 2016...so I guess I will wait and see as I really like the blue...and white...and guards. One thing I am wrestling with is whether to skip the Sat Nav/Connect+ and plump for the Connect only and save £1400 ... to be reinvested in other trinkets. Anyone also in this position?

I had this dilemma. I was going to be fitting the previous generation of PCM so the choice was made easier. A top of the range Gamin will cost you, at worse, 20% of the PCM. Yes it's a little untidy with the wires and having something stuck on the window but how often will you use the Sat-Nav anyway?FourPotPorsche said:

There are two ways to look at this.1) Do I want the other trinkets?
2) what will it do to the residuals by not having it?

When you come to sell your car there is IMO no "extra" which will ever reward you by giving back its cost.Naturally,
- That's not what the salesman is going to tell you, and
- It's not what the internet snobs who blither on about "poverty spec" want to hear.
I don't want to get into the merits or not of the new car - but I do think this speaks volumes - £K 2 discounts off a brand new model can only mean it isn't working as Porsche had hoped

Interesting, but when I purchased by 981 Cayman S I managed to get a £2K discount back then on a spec that came to £65K. Made me feel a bit better when the GTS came out with all the options on it that I paid extra for.See OP :

If you have an IPhone then PCM is overall inferior as long as 3G/4g coverage is good. If you sell it fairly quick then you might find that most buyers want integrated nav as Porsche buyers tend to be older (Would be certain about Connect if it were say a Seat)One thing I am wrestling with is whether to skip the Sat Nav/Connect+ and plump for the Connect only and save £1400 ... to be reinvested in other trinkets. Although some extras seem essential for an easy sale later. Can't decide if 20inch wheels are a resale essential because all the demonstrators have them and this true when I was buying my Cayman. Presumably the OPC spec 20s because they know their market better than me.Anyhow on this one I'm thinking bks to worrying about resale, just get the features I want and think I'll enjoy.
Disappointing. Underwhelming. Soul destroying. All words and phrases I never thought I’d write about a Porsche sports car, but the 2-litre Boxster is a poor Porsche and the disappointment focuses on the moment the engine starts.
Well least they don't hold back with an opinion, un like the Autocar review.

That I agree with. My point is that options do not 'help residuals' as many believe. Options depreciate too!
£10k of options is unlikely to put more than £2k on a 3 year old car. So, another £8k lost!
I agree. People spend £10k to get £2k back. £10k of options is unlikely to put more than £2k on a 3 year old car. So, another £8k lost!
Still, the same people buy on Porsche finance plans so must have been asleep during maths class.

Normally, in these situations things improve when the engine’s under load, but even Porsche hasn’t managed to pull off the impossible here. On the move the engine sounds broken, like it’s dropped a valve or two.

Interesting that the base model got such a slating compared to the S. Normally they're on an equal footing. Makes me think they've been a bit kind to the S as there's only really VTG to separate them, and I'm not sure that can be worth a whole star.
It is surprising. It must have been a different reviewer. This guy seems to have really hated the engine, as he even slates PDK (which I have never seen anyone do before). He seems to have got in a right huff with the car. I expect that I would feel the same. Interesting to see a journo expressing his actual views rather than toeing some editorial line.Mario149 said:

From what I've read, the 2.0 seems to be the better out of the two - but I guess this chap just hates the engine. I should be getting a drive in one soon - that's how I form my opinion. But it would have to be a complete dog for me to consider an Audi TT !!!
