just 7mm front spacers , that will help turn in. you need a set of longer bolts and if you want locking the 5mm Porsche locking ones.

the engine mount is here
http://www.function-first.com/products/engine-tran... (yellow one I have fitted)

and no 991R :-( but I do have a GT4 :-)

Brilliant, thanks. So something like: https://www.design911.co.uk/mobile/#part;id=1402

Strange that the addition of bolts takes the prices up to £89.

Wow, GT4, you're a very lucky man!

yep I just use those spacers as do many.

GT4 yep I guess buying a few cars and using my OPC for servicing etc and NOT flipping them stood me in line for a GT4.

Just an observation. I've just replaced my 987.2 S engine mount and it didn't seem to have the 'holes' in that the picture shows on the function first website. Do you think they changed the design in the gen 2's?

A few pics of my old one:

I have fitted mine to my spyder which is gen 2 and it had the holes, they must have changed the oem spec mid life on the gen 2.

My experience with DesignTek after market parts is that the quality is very poor. I bought some brake caliper adapters and the threads stripped as soon as the bolts were torqued up (they had to be helicoiled to fix them). They weren't particularly cheap either! Therefore I would think twice about using the bolts in that kit. I'd just buy the spacers and buy longer original bolts. Original bolts are about £6 each.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know what size I'll need to go with 7mm spacers? I'm thinking 10mm longer and looks like I'll need 10 bolts for two spacers.

Not yet. Have got RS29s and new discs all round and want to see how it goes at Anglesey before getting the ducts. RS29s feel great on the road so far...apart from the low speed squealing!

I don't use spacers myself as my wheels (Oz ultraleggera) have smaller offsets which give the same spacer effect, therefore I can use the standard bolts.

Looking at what's available you'll need to get the 10 mm longer bolts for 7 mm spacers:

RS29 give great bite on the road :-), you do need ducts though about £25 and still time. the disks get a bit hot ! net effect is boiled fluid which will cost you more to replace than ordering 2 clip on GT3 ducts. they just snap on so a quick install.

I'm picking up some wheel bolts tomorrow from the OPC to replace the four locking ones. Will probably order the ducts while I'm there.

Go look at the road rash at the back as it is !

I fitted front only spacers to widen the front track and for better turn in.

I was just asking why you wanted to fit a set all round.

Road rash is harsh on these cars, if you are doing it for looks it won't look good for long with no paint on your arches ;-).

Thanks.

I'll fit the fronts only.. (Bloody OPC selling me front and rear)

Some further advice needed please:

Do the Cayman R suspension shock absorbers fit the gen 2 Cayman S? Reason I ask is there's a problem with one of the rear dampers and I'm wondering whether I should change the whole suspension to the R one rather than buying just one new one. I read somewhere on the Planet 9 website that the Cayman R suspension fits the Gen 1 Cayman but not the Gen 2 one, which doesn't make sense but that's what it said.
