Drove new 718 Cayman on Monday & had good look @ car, now understand why Porsche have added option for sports design front, as std car has front air intakes with slats - can't get behind to clean out, will need small hose on hoover, also front plastic panel under number plate (front) in black plastic - looks cheap, would have looked a lot better with a small mesh grill or slats.

Spotted a Carrera S with 20" wheels in Satin platinum finish, Loads of brake dust on wheels , but @ a distance you wouldn't have known as finish masked the dust.

No discount for me in spite of 16k of extras ..........................

Sorry Ozzie, disagree re white. I have been running white Spyder since 2010 and it has been easiest car I have had to keep clean. In fact I have Never taken a bucket of water/hose near it ! OK it is a bit of a "garage queen" with only 14K and it isn't taken out in the rain...
Meanwhile, back on planet earth..... biggrin

My budget meant I had a choice between a well specced Base or a lightly specced S. Went for the base as I feel like it is more than fast enough for road driving and the additional creature comforts I could add really help as it will be my daily driver.

Had a 2.7 PDK Boxster and Carrera S again PDK. So gone for Cayman S with PDK sports styling ....in metallic white.

Went for std Cayman, as 170mph & 0-60 in 4.9s I thought was plenty quick enough for UK, plus afforded me more options........

Good mix of Base and S Caymans - agree re the comments, the base version is very quick.

Its interesting, from speaking to a couple of dealers they have all said their selling more base than S versions.

I reckon base with PDK looks a steal, 300 bhp on the road with a few options for less than £50k.

Base manual for me - but that's about all I've specced.

Agree that white cars have been about the easiest for me to keep clean too.

Since when did the Light Design Package become essential..waste of 200 sovs in my book.

Of course all the other options are essential as I have specced them smile (other than metallic)

worth it so you don't get the "I can't believe you spent this much on a car and theres no visor light for me to do my make up" rant from the mrs.

All of those should really be standard giving you a £45k base car, £47k with PDK. Still in a league of it's own at that price point.
