718 Cayman Spec & Colours- what have you gone for?

That does look nice! I saw a GR 911 earlier and wasn't sure it's for me. Where is that Sapphire Blue Bobo? Is that the colour you went with in the end? I don't feel as i'd tire of it like I possibly could Orange or Yellow. A couple of friends said it looked tacky which I can't compute.

Sapphire blue was Belfast and no didn't choose that colour in the end. Graphite wheels on guards works well even on my 981 Just back from a drive in a non-S car...
Back to back with my M135i was an interesting experience. The engines deliver power so differently. At the time, it felt as quick as my car, but getting back into my car it felt quicker than the 718, I'm not sure how much of this is down to the torque/power delivery though. The 718 really came on as the revs increased, my car is a lot flatter through the revs.
The car was on 20s without PASM, the ride was firm but fine, I think I can live with that. It didn't have the PSE either. I'd like to try a car with PSE, but the noise was OK as it was. Start up sounded great and it's fine in the cabin when driving.
Some thoughts on options...
This car had the GT wheel, I prefer the thicker diameter of the non GT wheel.
Sports seats are a must, they were much more comfortable for me.
Full leather is probably worth it to me, the leather dash adds a lot to the experience.
I want to see a car with the black sportex interior, this seems to only way to get a contrast stitching on the dash which is something I like. It may also do away with the need for heated seats.
I'd like the Alcantara wheel, but it isn't available as multi function
GT silver was a bit meh.
Carmine red does look good, but I could only see it on a Panamera which didn't wear it well.
Graphite looks better in person, it just doesn't photograph well.
I think my current leanings for colour are Miami blue, Guards red or Carmine.
I'm going to go back and drive the Miami blue S demo asap.

Doesn't surprise me your comments on engine power. I test drove an M135 before I bought my 981 and IMHO even with the 981 the chassis was way better with the Cayman. Then again the M140 is faster again I think.Back to back with my M135i was an interesting experience. The engines deliver power so differently. Anyone able to comment on how much of a pig the Turbo wheels are to clean / get repaired? I saw them the other day and thought they looked awesome with Carmine. Really struggling between those and the Carrera classic wheels.
Not too bad - get a set of 3 genuine "wheel woolies" brushes (e.g. http://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/wheel-woolies-pack... ) and use all 3 sizes for the various parts of the wheel! There were a couple of kerb scrapes on my LH front and RH rear(?) but the OPC got the SMART repair man in before I bought it and I genuinely can't see where they were.
Gratuitous picture time (need to get a better picture)...

Well guys thanks to all your help I put a deposit down today to lock down a build slot. Sounds like the PC are having a demo car with PSE so I can check it out before I finalise spec. Will share my thoughts. If a no go then will upgrade lights because the ones on the mlite are superb.
Re price discount I managed was a tank of fuel, and a full experience day (rather than half day!). PC wouldnt even round down my monthly payments by a few quid! Plus I've been told I'll get a few Porsche goodies...whatever that means. Interestingly I tried autobid who reckon they could save just under £1500 through a factory order, from a dealer. I wasn't convinced, plus I'm doing PX so that's important given I won't get the car for 10/11 months.
Part ex wise do they give you a price for what they reckon it will be in 10/11 months time?Re price discount I managed was a tank of fuel, and a full experience day (rather than half day!). Porsche don't need to discount why would they their order book is always full months in advance but this is actually good for us the customer as the used prices remains firm. It amazes me the people on here say they can get discount they can't but were you can save serious money is the finance which most people overlook. Never use their finance despite what they claim it's expensive by spending a morning doing research I genuinely saved 3500 over the course of 4 years by going to high street bank and beating Porsche finance which they said couldn't be bettered

I saw a black sport-tex interior at OPC Tewkesbury, don't know if this is a logistic possibility for you to get there, I've ben to a few OPC's and that was the only one with one. I was passing by on the motorway so decided to pop in hoping to see their graphite blue cayman, which was out. However, having ordered sport-tex (gb/crayon version), this was the first time I saw it in the flesh, so it was worth it for that. Contrast stitching looks great as usual, I guess the main thing is whether you like the material or not. I was a bit concerned as I've always preferred leather over material and going for material seemed like a backwards step initially. However, I liked both what I saw and the tactile feel of the Sport-tex. It's very taut and quite rough and the raised bobbles on it are quite grippy. The texture of the seat inners also breaks up a completely black interior better than all leather IMO.Pinball said:

Good feedback thanks! Did you spec heated seats? Not sure on the need when the main contact patch is cloth.

Wilmslow has a Cayman with black sportex interior in the showroom, don't know if this is too far for a visit. I know it's a costly option, but deviated stitching is available on the dash with full leather! This is my first post on here, been following for a while so thanks everybody for their input!
