Porsche don't need to discount why would they their order book is always full months in advance but this is actually good for us the customer as the used prices remains firm. It amazes me the people on here say they can get discount they can't but were you can save serious money is the finance which most people overlook. Never use their finance despite what they claim it's expensive by spending a morning doing research I genuinely saved 3500 over the course of 4 years by going to high street bank and beating Porsche finance which they said couldn't be bettered
I must have imagined my £1700 discount then. bobo67 said:

Where can you get PCP finance lower than the 6.4% quoted by Porsche? I've tried but not been able to find a better offer and I have an excellent credit rating. My google fu could of course be crapCoups86 said:
Wilmslow has a Cayman with black sportex interior in the showroom, don't know if this is too far for a visit. I know it's a costly option, but deviated stitching is available on the dash with full leather!
This is my first post on here, been following for a while so thanks everybody for their input!
Thanks, but Wilmslow is nearly 200 miles away! This is my first post on here, been following for a while so thanks everybody for their input!
Not seen it on the configurator?
Booked in to have the demo Cayman S for a Saturday in a few weeks time. Looking forward to it. It's Miami blue too so will be interesting to see what its like to drive it for a while.

Best I found was Halifax at 3.3% - the rub is you have to have a Halifax account for at least 3 months and I found it with a month to gohttp://www.halifax.co.uk/car-finance/compare/
Similar thing at Lloyds at 4.6% - same sort of terms
https://www.lloydsbank.com/car-finance.asp
Best brokered PCP outside of OPC I found was http://www.performancecarfinance.co.uk/ - under 6% IIRC and no mileage penalties.

Spot on - just got an appointment at Halifax - shouldn't get the car within 3 months but i'd be happy to delay for the difference that would make in payments.http://www.halifax.co.uk/car-finance/compare/

I've not really got as far as talking money properly yet. But was told that "if we need to find a grand or two then we can do that"wreke said:

Just to note, Halifax car finance doesn't necessarily become immediately available after 3 months. They use a variety of factors to decide whether to make it available to you. I had suggested it for my parent's Macan GTS, but the finance dodnt actually become available to quote until 5 months after acvount opening (by which time parents had aleady taken delivery and just decided to pay cash).
Weirdly, after it did become available it also refused to let my mother borrow anymore than £10k and was offering up 10.4% apr rather than the advertised 4.3%. All the while, my mother actually has a 996 credit rating on expedia?'
One of my brothers however, who has banked with halifax for 10 years could happily borrow 70k at 4.3% apr despite having a lower credit rating than my mother (and i know he's significantly less well off!). I guess the point I'm making is thay it isn't hinged soley off having the account for 3 months.

I'm next on the list to firm up my CS order so am interested in any discounts that you guys have agreed with OPC - is it down to the options value (I'm looking at over £15k at present) or something else? Finance for instance?
£500 discount here - but that was only as a goodwill gesture. Miscommunications on spec meant that OPC had to take my previous order into their stock and get a new order in place, which meant a 4 month extra wait - hence the goodwill gesture. Got a reduction in finance from 9.9% down to 6.9% when OPC introduced lower rates for 2017, so I'm rather happy about the delay.
Discount-wise though, the dealerships have most room to maneuver on the options list. With a whopping £15k options list that you're talking about, they should be able to offer some reductions. Don't go in there with that list and order it straight out though. Mention that you are considering certain options, and ask if they can sweeten the deal which will make you more likely to take the options in question.

Cheer Tim bo - will bear that in mind when I eventually tie down the specMiscommunications on spec meant that OPC had to take my previous order into their stock and get a new order in place, which meant a 4 month extra wait - hence the goodwill gesture. Appreciate that - I suspect that they will want to see a history of income etc. It's no skin off my nose to switch banks though and risk it given it's so easy now. I've already had a quote at 5.9% from performancecarfinance.co.uk so that will save a few quidThey use a variety of factors to decide whether to make it available to you. Well guys thanks to all your help I put a deposit down today to lock down a build slot. Sounds like the PC are having a demo car with PSE so I can check it out before I finalise spec. Will share my thoughts. If a no go then will upgrade lights because the ones on the mlite are superb.
Re price discount I managed was a tank of fuel, and a full experience day (rather than half day!). PC wouldnt even round down my monthly payments by a few quid! Plus I've been told I'll get a few Porsche goodies...whatever that means. Interestingly I tried autobid who reckon they could save just under £1500 through a factory order, from a dealer. I wasn't convinced, plus I'm doing PX so that's important given I won't get the car for 10/11 months.
