Pickup of my 718 CS brought forward from next monday to this. Had arranged to go in this monday just to sort the paperwork ready for the following monday, but OPC contacted me this morning to say well since you're coming in to sign paperwork on monday, we'll arrange for you to collect the car too.

So why didn't they just arrange for me to take car this monday in the first place.
Could be they just got it a few days earlier than they'd anticipated I suppose ...

Anyways. I don't care. Just one weekend to go. The countdown has been reset twice, then has come down from months, to weeks, to just days and hours ...

Must be a Porsche thing! Exactly the same happened to me.

I notice 'Crayon' has filtered down from the new GT3 as a colour choice on the 718.

I like. Anyone gone for it?

Had a Racing Yellow Cayman courtesy car since yesterday. Never have I driven a car who's colour has attracted so much attention!

Good choice!

I've been playing with the configurator and have lost some options. Is Sat nav, dab, connect+ and all that stuff now standard equipment? When did that happen?!

Looks like a 'Brexit' punishment! 718's now preloaded with the above stuff!!

Seriously though.....car should come with that anyway...and still a bargain

Yes - those are now going to be standard.
For cars built after June (week 22?).
A price rise accompanies it.
Announced about a week ago.
Wasn't told of any other changes to standard equipment (not for Base at least).

If that is the only price rise - and one was inevitable as a result of the pound's depreciation against the euro - in euro terms it's a price cut. As you say they should be standard, so it's just a case of Porsche finally being forced to respond to market pressures. The 718 was already a significant step up from the dreadfully mean spec of the 918 - with blutooth, SPP, a decent steering wheel and flappy paddles standard (on PDK cars). Only autowipers, parking sensors, multifunction wheel and (for some) cruise control and you have a spec on a par with market norms.

Has anyone got or seen pictures of a Sapphire blue car with the crayon leather interior?

What delivery dates are people being quoted now? I'm being told November and wanting to make sure this is realistic as I will be handing back my current car by November at the latest. Also what are peoples opinions of the standard headlights, are the PDLS upgrade worth it?

I added PDLS just before lockdown. I'd read elsewhere that another owner who was coming from the same car as me, Z4, finding that the standard lights weren't as bright as the Z4. That is something which would have really grated if I'd gone with standard ones. The 4 point DRLs are an added cosmetic bonus plus the corner following lights have a practical benefit.

Tempted. I had a MB demo from the OPC for a day. We liked the colour, my only concern is how it may date.

Think in the cayman it's ok but in a regular 911 maybe it's too much .

All subjective as they say but I'd happily have one in Miami long term

The sales guy didn't steer me either way. His point was you can either go safe (black/grey/silver) or go a bit more lairy (MB,Lava,Guards) the market wouldn't penalise you as there will be desire for both styles.

The safer combo I'm thinking of now is Sapphire Blue, Platinum wheels and the Black/Crayon leather.
