Thanks Roberto. I'll try to get some better pictures in the sun when it next decides to show itself biggrin
Please do. Night blue really looks great - and think the turbo 911 rims suit it perfectly.

Hi Roberto,

I went for the midnight blue and it does look awesome.

The metallic paint really does sparkle in direct sunlight, however, it doesn't come out in the pictures I've taken.

Keep seeing a midnight blue 911 near me and it looks stunning when clean - I drove one at the PEC that was a bit dirty though and the colour didnt carry through and it just made me think it would be high maintenance.

I love those Turbo wheels, they're horrendously expensive though aren't they. But they really look fantastic. In black, Night Blue or GT silver, they make the car look even better.

Went into the OPC today to finalise my spec. Looking at a mid May delivery. Did end up undecided on whether to go for auto wipers and dimming mirrors plus auto dual climate. Still got a few days to decide on that. Had a look at the PDLS lights and I'm really pleased I've specced those, definitey a worthwhile upgrade.

When did you order Pinball? I'm thinking of swapping out auto wipers for something else. Figure it's not much effort to move the stick and I could get the steering column covered in leather instead which I think I would prefer

Just finalized my spec Cayman S at Porsche today and it was pointed out to me that the dual climate control, isn't about the 'dual', it's about 'climate control. So if you don't spec it you have a heater knob and a blower knob you have to keep adjusting yourself. So you can't just set a temp and let it sort itself out. So take your choice, but absolutely amazed a car this price comes as standard with a heating control system from a 70's Ford escort.confused

Strange old business all round really - after I sent my OPC an initial spec I got a slightly panicked phone call a few days later saying the standard air con was unbelievably basic. The one that annoys me most is that I can't have leather seats with alcantara centres. But they're all fist world problems really - I'm going to end up with my first Porsche at the end of the ordering experience, and they do seem to be a pretty good car from the ones I've driven. I'll live.

I ordered in October. The benefit of the auto wipers for me is the interval speed, I'm not sure if it's possible to change the interval speed on the standard wipers.

I had a play with both air con systems. I was also told the other benefit of the dual system was that it has a filter which the standard one doesn't.

I wasn't going to order the auto wipers - I was pretty sure the demo I drove had normal wipers and they had variable interval speed. But I am questioning myself again ... not bothered about auto but am bothered about variable interval. Does anybody know for sure whether the standard ones do have the variable interval setting?

Interesting to read so many coming from the M135i/235i. I think I'm going to do the same. Lease is up in April 18 and with lead times as they are I need to think about it soon.

I want to get a drive in a 718 C and 718 CS, noise/sound is a concern for me, I'm taking it as a given I need the PSE.

I always forget how spare a base Porsche is too, option list is looking like:
Jet black metallic (bit conventional, I need to think about this)
Platinum Carrera S wheels
Full black leather interior
Sports seats (need to check if kids seats fit with these)
Park assist f&r
PDLS lights
Light washers painted
718 logo in black
PDK
PSE in black
Dimming mirrors/rain sensor
Light design package
Heated steering wheel
Climate
Seat heating
smoking pack
Isofix points
Dials in Bordeaux
Belts in Bordeaux
Crest on seats
Nav
Bose
DAB

Seeing over £13k in options hurts a bit, especially when I haven't even got PASM in there. I'll read back through this thread for thoughts on the options. I know there are a few frivolous ones in there, but nothing that is going to impact the price that much.

Has anyone gone for Graphite blue? Pictures look good, but not sure I could live with it.

I've gone with graphite blue, my final spec is on the previous page. Thought about PSE but didn't spec it in the end as I've not been able to hear it. From what I've read, it just adds volume and bangs rather than a tonal improvement, but I guess if that's your preference in an exhaust it's a positive. To my ear, I found the base engine to be nicer sounding than the s. A bit higher pitched and less clattery.

I'm an m135i driver who's made the leap. Biggest regret for me wasn't speccing the MPE for the pops and bangs on the overrun (which are quite mute on the standard exhaust). If you read the press they say the new 4 pot in the Porka is a drone - but as you read this site, and many others, non purists think the 718 sounds pretty good. Ive driven plenty of 6 cylinder porsches and thought the 718 would be a disappointment. But I loved it n sports mode, and to add the 5 star entertainment factor opted for the PSE.

I've got a test drive on Saturday in a non-S with 20" wheels, no PASM and no PSE. Their S wasn't available, but this is probably a good start to get a feel for a fairly vanilla car.

I'm very torn on colour and I think I need to see a few cars in person.
- I like miami blue, but I don't think I'd want to own one.
- Agate looks good, but it's a bit generic.
- Jet black? Would never be clean!
- Carmine, need to see in person, £1500 too.
- GT Silver, I like this a lot, but like Agate, a bit generic.

Welcome to the stress of choosing a colour , so far i've been Carrera White, Carmine Red, Lava Orange and back to not sure.

I really like GT Silver but I see it all the time - and like you don't really want to spend £1000 extra on paint that's what's niggling me but I guess you pay for the exclusivity.

Sapphire Blue looks great in pics but haven't seen a 718 pic or a Sapphire Blue Cayman in the flesh. Going to try get to Nottingham this weekend who have one in stock. I think my Mrs will leave me if I ask her which colour she prefers again.

I went round every colour and still don't know if I made right choice but too late now it arrives next week oops I think guards red hard to beat and it's free but had 2 already so needed a change. Have seen sapphire in the flesh and looks good just don't know if you would get tired of it

I've always like GR, especially with dark wheels. But the leap of actually buying one in that colour? Not sure!

I don't know what colour the demo car is on Saturday so will be interesting!
