718 Cayman Spec & Colours- what have you gone for?
Discussion
Will get some up tomorrow , I've just done mainly motorway driving but so far so good. I did upload a photo and take it down because it was upside down for some weird reason.
I'll probably put a proper write up Monday / Tuesday too when I've took it over a few miles. And Carmine looks amazing in the flesh I'm so happy with the colour

I've had a good read through most of the specs and have finally managed to get mine to something I am happy with (price £50k limit set) and looks:
Graphite blue metallic
20 inch carrera s in satin black
Rear model designation deletion
Rear parking sensors
Cruise control
PDK (works out cheaper on PCP than manual!)
Heated seats
Smokers pack (to remove gap in centre console)
Had gone for guards red and still not sure about 20 inch wheels without PASM but can't justify the extra cost. Have till the 21st Feb to change so feedback welcome

Very nice, I wasn't sure about the 20's without PASM, so I went with the 19's and I'm just going to get them powedercoated gloss black. A demo car (second hand) had the 19 Cayman S alloys Gloss black and I thought they looked ace. Something to think about!Graphite blue metallic

My first test drive in a 718 was in a manual 2.0 Boxster which had 20" wheels and no PASM and I found the handling and ride perfectly fine. Porsche know how to set up a car. I went for PASM when I spec'd my own car but a combination of running in, winter conditions and not really driving B roads (yet) has left me a little ambivalent on PASM thus far. At present I believe I could have done without it and either saved a grand or put it towards full leather. A 10mm drop whilst probably noticible isn't that much.
When I went on my test drive I drove two cars back to back, one with PASM and one without, both on 20" wheels. Took the same route both times and made a point of driving over the same bad broken bits of road in each. The PASM car was more compliant, but the non PASM car was not unpleasant either, certainly in comparison to the bone shaking Z4 I had at the time. I do have PASM and 20" wheels on my car now and I don't find driving that with the sports suspension, which is probably harder than a non-PASM unpleasant. That said SPASM in sports mode is perhaps a step too far.

Thanks for this. I've had a z4 coupe previously with 19s and ride was dreadful, can't go back to that so glad to hear the cayman is noticeably better.Forgot to add to the spec above I also have gone for the black sports tailpipe to finish off the rear end. Tested a car with sports exhaust and couldn't massively tell the difference. Videos online the sound is more dictated by the sports button and pops and bangs this brings more than anything else

Hi folks, just reviving this thread because I've ordered a new 718C and am like a kid at christmas. Keeping the new purchase under wraps from family and friends, so hoping to share the excitement here instead.
This will be my second 718 Cayman, and the sole reason for the change is simply because I fancy a new spec and switching from manual to PDK.
Order officially placed yesterday for a November build slot, so hopefully an early December handover.
So, final locked spec:
Has anyone else made the change from manual to PDK and did you ever end up regretting that decision? I did love PDK on the demo car I had for an afternoon, but I just hope that in the long run I don't end up missing a good old manual gearbox.
Fingers-crossed the next 2 months fly by!
