I was bored on nightshift so had yet another play with the configurator and noticed a few more options added to the configurator e.g.:

Front air intake slats painted CKX
Rear side air intake grilles painted CAC
Rear apron painted CNG
Tinted tail lights XXP

You can also now get the climate control panel trimmed in aluminium, carbon etc. or painted.

There might be other new options but those were the ones that stuck out.
Thanks. Jet black and body coloured wheels are a new option I noticed. Still no option just to colour he rev counter, though, which is one I'd really like.

I'm loving that!!! - probably cause it's not that far of my spec!

Quick question - why carrera metallic white rather than flat white? I'm still stumped which to choose and haven't had the opportunity to see them side by side.

Cheers!

On the 981 the speed limit display is standard in the instrument cluster with PCM nav. Seems retrograde it's an option now?
Heated seats?
Why folding mirrors? Is the car on the street a lot?
Climate?
Auto wipers?
Smokers package?
Passenger footwell storage net?

I've had a Rhodium 911 S and a guards red Boxster 2.7 PDK which is by far the best car I have ever driven. The 911 S was a bit OTT bit too excessive for normal roads and somehow didn't give you the confidence you had when "strapping on" a 2.7 Boxster....back to the colour, solid white or metallic white. They are in my opinion completely different colours the metallic is different enough to justify the price. My second choice was dark blue metallic with all the shinny bits I'll pop one on the configurator. You wouldn't believe it's the same car !

2 different things. Standard it shows the limit based on the navigation info, the optional system uses a camera to read road signs (inc temporary ones).

It's extremely effective.

Im being very daring and going for black door handles……I'm expecting mild to moderate abuse.

I think black door handles will go well with Carrera White, nice contrast.

Have you not left it a bit late to negotiate a "deal"? I would have thought you would need to have done that at the point of putting your deposit down?

Having had 2 Porsche previously albeit nearly new I never dreamed that I'd get a discount. Now I'm told everyone is getting one my OPC Leeds has been very helpful to date. I have used them extensively before for warranty issues on my Boxster and 911 and they came up trumps unlike Porsche breakdown who are a joke.

If you get a discount please let us know. I have a 718 s ordered but have been told no discount.

I phoned several other dealers today and still no discount.

Thanks

Well they haven't said NO so I'll keep at it. It might be good business for them to offer a small discount plenty of exposure through sites like this

On my Honda the camera often picks up signs from side roads which put me off ordering it on the Boxster. I'm assuming the Porsche tech is the same, albeit 5 times the price.

Pushing for discounts on the optional specs is the way to go apparently. That's where they have large margins and maneuverability on offers.

Regarding discounts, has anyone tried using Coast2coast cars?

If you go through it, it claims it can secure you a £1.2k discount on 2.0 Cayman. Bit too late in the day for me to try it, but wonder if anyone has been through it and managed to secure a discount as per the website?

New tech invariably doesn't work. The "adaptive lights" on my E-Class would judge the reflective signs on bends as oncoming lights and dip the headlamps at precisely the moment I needed them most - in the bends! Switched that gimmick off pronto!

I have it on my current car (BMW) and have to say it's excellent. I've never had any issues with it and have ordered it on my 718.

Never done this in the Cayenne.

Are you outside UK? As I cannot see any alcantara option on UK configurator
