The specification looks good but have you experience of a luxor beige interior? You can get awful reflections in the windscreen from this colour so much so there is actualy a warning in the brochure. As with any soecification of course it's your choice but - just sayin' !,

I had an Estoril Blue M3 in the past with Beige interior which I absolutely loved.

I've also seen a few 911's with this combo and it looks nice. Never heard about reflecting off the window but will have to watch out for this.

Oh man

Almost the exact same spec I'm going for - except for the interior where I'm going for the black sport tex.

Though I'm still deciding between the Carrera S wheels in Platinum satin that you've gone for, or the 911 turbo wheels.

Also, I didn't think it was possible to spec the calipers in yellow without the PCCB?? If so that is definitely what I'm wanting ...

I test drove a 718 Boxster S with the beige interior and the reflections were quite intrusive and distracting. I would personally not spec it - make sure you get a test drive in one with this interior on a sunny day before committing. You could always go two-tone with the beige and a black dashboard which should prevent the reflections.

Adam I think with the M 3 the dashboard would still have been black? On the Porsche the dash iwill be beige. If you haven' t seen a car in this colour in the flesh, try and see one. ( In the USA there were some court cases re the reflection issue in Cayennes which led to the statement in the brochure about reflections.

As a die hard fan I ordered a 718 in manual mode.

However , having spent the afternoon at Silverstone in a pdk I think I could be tempted - a lot with that gearbox.


on a side note - even my son picked up on the turbo lag - he hated that aspect !

Was the pdk you drive at silverstone a base model? I've only driven the base in manual and the s in pdk. I really would have liked to drive another two with the transmissions swapped round to get a better appraisal.

Is the implementation of entry and drive the same as the 981? If so I would avoid, plus iirc there is even a warning on the configurator re it's ability to be compromised.

Thanks for the suggestion with the beige interior. The M3 did have a black dash so I will write to the dealer and ask about looking at a two tone colour instead. Thanks for the suggestion and why I came to a panel of experts with my layout in the first place. Thank you.

The yellow calipers are a local dealer option (expensive option at around 800 pounds) but uses the correct thermal paint etc. However, much cheaper than ordering ceramic brakes which be overkill to get me to work and back.

My daily driver at the moment is a Mercedes CLS500 and the creature comfort I liked the most was entry and drive. It sounds like a real 1st world problem but I loved opening the door without getting the key out of pocket. I will have to adjust to the fake start key rather than a push button but I'm sure I will get used to it. Luckily, in Dubai, we can still leave our cars running while we go into the shops to buy something (keep the AC on) and it will still be waiting for us when we come out. Car theft is virtually non-existent here so I doubt if anyone here will try to creative enough to try to hack into it.

Thanks to some good advice on this forum, I changed to the black interior. Thanks for the heads up.

The sapphire blue with yellow calipers is the winning combo for me. It might be cheating (a little) but getting the paint without forking out for the ceramic brakes are still worth it for the aesthetic reward. However, I'm yet to see a picture of a 718 Cayman in Sapphire blue.

No, no, no, please don't fake PCCB! Please re-consider for these reasons:
1/ You'll feel proud of your yellow calipers when in the car alone but... imagine chatting to another Porsche owner who has real PCCB's and asks you "How do you find yours?" What will you say? "They're fantastic" or "Ah...actually they're fake."
2/ When you come to re-sell, having something non-standard and difficult/expensive to correct will put most buyers off.
3/ There must be something better you can spend £800 on?
4/ Fake PCCBs is like someone sticking an "M" badge on the back of their non-M BMW - makes me cringe every time.
5/ It's entirely up to you. Enjoy the car whatever!

Are yellow calipers really that associated with PCCBs?

Thought it was just a 718 thing, and that other and previous Porsches could have variously coloured calipers whether PCCB or not ...

As for me, I don't care about PCCB - I'm not going to track the car and ceramics make no difference for road use. Just want the colour as it works so much better with blue than red calipers do.

It's personal of course, but if it's for show I would have thought that to the general man on the street red calipers would shout "performance" rather than yellow which may not mean anything to those who aren't up on their Porsche spec?

I think the red looks good with Sapphire, but as said it's all down to the individual's taste...

Personally don't think either red or yellow look that good with a blue car - If looks are your prime consideration I would go for the black calipers of the base car with silver wheels!
