Agree with the blue interior comments, I am not a fan of blue interiors. That is why I am going black sport tex - it still has the nice silver stitching.
IMHO red interior on a blue car is a no no, and I have the hard copy brochure in front of me and it isnt a recommended option!
Have you seen the sport tex seats and sat on them? Just thought that they may look a bit 'poor mans Porsche' compared to the full leather?IMHO red interior on a blue car is a no no, and I have the hard copy brochure in front of me and it isnt a recommended option!
Yes I had previously looked in the brochure and realised it is not a recommended option, can't see why as looks OK. I can understand why the full red would not look right.
I find that the full black interior can be a bit dark and prefer something a bit brighter- It's a Porsche not really a shrinking violet sort of car!
Agree with the other comments re the red interior but its a personal thing.
I am a conservative (read boring) type so would go black. If you're concerned about residuals then do factor it in, red interiors are quite a marmite option. I dont know enough re the sport tex options but the pictures look good and it could be something different while being not as out there.
But saying all that its your car, get what you like

Go manual. One day they will be extinct and it will be great to have the last of the great manuals. You buy these cars to have fun and be engaged right?
Agree manual should be the preferred option, had a short drive in a manual Boxster and found first and second gears a bit tall. Wondered if the PDK with 7 speed might be better spaced gear ratios. Will need to do a full test drive and see what the weighting is on the clutch pedal in traffic. The Mean Machine said:

Unfortunately, clutch pedal weight is on the heavy side in traffic, and you're right, first couple of cogs are pretty tall. When you do your first A-road overtake in 2nd it feels kind of "worth it", as you realise the tall ratios and heavy clutch are what's needed to tame and control the torque that's available. The PDK is undoubtedly easier (and lets face it, better than I'll ever be at swapping cogs), but for me, at the end of the day, removes a bit of engagement with the driving experience. Hard to believe an auto box could be just so good in all respects though - it's a technological marvel, outstanding in every way (especially with sports chrono) and I know I am in many ways foolish not to be going with it. But hey, I want 18" wheels, so I'm clearly wired up a bit different from most. Liam

Up to know I've been going white. I'm at OPC Saturday morning to finalise...but now I'm leaning towards the dark blue with Crayon Sport Text....anyone seen the dark blue in real life, does it swirl like black ? Daft question I suppose.
Had an E60 525i once upon a time in a very similar dark metallic blue to Porsche's Night Blue metallic. No, it's not like black, doesn't swirl nor get dirty nearly as badly.I think it looks great on the Cayman.
I was at my OPC last week and they gave me a sneak peak of the two Caymans they had. Base in white with black and red interior and a dark blue metallic with black interior.
The blue looked stunning but my other half also told me it was boring so I've settled on Graphite Blue.
They let me take a Graphite Blue Boxster S overnight as well to experience the Sports Exhaust. Must say it sounded fantastic and was obnoxiously loud. And despite not being 100% on the colour it did grow on me. The demo had platinum wheels which didn't work as well as the satin black which I have ordered in my opinion. And also the Boxster had a blue roof which was a bit odd.
My lock down is 7th Oct. Think I have decided that sport chrono is coming off as I didn't touch Sport Plus once on my extended test drive instead sticking to sport. In its place I think I'm going to add PDLS+ as the lights were brilliant.

It looks great in those showroom pics, but for some reason the outside pics seem to make it look quite dull? Might just be the way the photos have been taken?
Is anyone going for the Alcantara wheel? I sat in a Macan GTS with one fitted a few days ago and it just felt quite 'sexy' but I'm not sure if it's be hideously impractical day to day or if i'll just get a load of "because race car" jokes from people...
I'm tempted to go with an alcantara theme with the headlining and arm rest and the basic half leather seats with alcantara inserts..

especially if like me, your wife likes moisturising her bloody hands all the time....
that she doesBut fortunately she doesn't drive or have a licence, and so will not be applying secondary coats of moisturiser to the wheel of my impending 718
Am sticking with the default wheel in any case.
