Yes but on British roads I'll arrive at the destination at the same time as your S but I'll have fulfilled my leather fetish

what i mean is that yours is properly specced up. i've only gone for some essential options (at least, essential to me).

The base car I drove yesterday cost over 61k and didn't even have special paint (it was white). Neither did it didn't seem to have lots of things that some would like - no PASM, no PTV, no PSE. It's amazing what you can spend if you don't get a firm grip on yourself.

Good news!I bet the excitement is building.

mine is finishing it's build tomorrow and due in the dealer on the 1st July ..I don't know if that's a realistic timescale but sounds similar to what you've been told.
Have you had the info for the built in tracker activation yet?

Great spec sparkyhd. I've gone for red roof and the black/red leather but with gt silver and titanium carrera s wheels.
Yes ,I find it hard to think of anything else. Good job I'm an OAP and don't have work to think about. Driving up to Silverstone on Sunday for the Porsche half day course on Monday morning. Its all fun. I was not given a date re arrival at the dealership at Tonbridge.

Not sure the wife would notice if it was a Cayman or a Boxster.

So after being kindly offered an overnight test drive of the Boxster S, I've bitten the bullet and decided to upgrade my 981 base Cayman to the 718 Cayman S. I have managed to bag my local OPC's only CS they've been allocated for this quarter so should get delivery in Oct/Dec.

Spec I've decided:

Graphite Blue
Sport-Tex leather Black
Model deletion
Park assist (f&r)
PDK
Sport chrono
Sports exhaust in black
Carerra S wheels in satin black
GT steering wheel
Sports Seats Plus
Seat Heating
Nav + Connect Plus

It's my first car as a factory order and as I'm only 26 I'm really bloody chuffed with myself!

Good Spec, was beginning to think I was the only one under 40 who bought a Porsche.

I'd be adding PASM - the ride is very jiggly on 20" wheels on the standard suspension. And Climate.

not saying blue or grey are not great colours BTW. the reason i was hoping for other colours is because i've only seen the Cayman mainly in renders in blue and grey. right now my Cayman will be grey too unless i decide to change

so please post any pics of any 718 when possible.

and so you should be - that's pretty good going.

does your OPC really have only 1 CS for the whole quarter?

i notice Carrera S wheels are still really popular.

anyone else liking the Carrera Sports (in black)?

So chuffed you ordered it twice!?

Let me ask, at 26 are you fat or balding or do you have grey hair, or any combination of these?

If not, that really IS unusual for a Porsche driver!

A serious question though... would I be correct is saying the flat six soundtrack does absolutely nothing for you, and you just want more speed? Quite normal at 26, I vaguely recall!

A serious reply. Its not just the speed is it . Its improved over the previous model in so many ways. P.S. I'm grey, balding and I'm no longer slim. So I fit into your description of a Porsche owner.

As you may well have read from my post, I really don't like the noise the base 718 makes (and do like the 981 one), but then I abhor the pops and bangs of PSE, am really not keen on flat plane crank V8s (even F1 ones), hate most air cooled two stroke karts .... A "nice" noise is an extremely subjective thing.
