Although only taken on my humble iPhone the colour represented in the pic is exactly right for Miami Blue.

Thanks! It looks so good in your pics. Is there any hint of green if you see it in bright day light or from certain angle?

Nope. Blue all the way.

(As I've mentioned on here a few times before - if you click/press the Thumbsnap image a few times you eventually get a nice hi-res image)

Call from OPC - lockdown is now - final chance to spec.

Currently:

Sapphire Blue Metallic
Sport-Tex leather interior in Black
LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
ParkAssist (front and rear)
6-speed manual gearbox
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Sport Chrono Package including mode switch
Sports exhaust system (incl. sports tailpipes in silver colour)
20-inch Carrera S wheels
Wheel centres with full-colour Porsche Crest
Cruise control
Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensors
Sports seats Plus (2-way, electric)
Two-zone automatic climate control
Smoking package
Passenger footwell storage net
Silver Grey seat belts
Storage compartment lid with model logo
Navigation Module for Porsche Communication Management
BOSE® surround sound-system
Digital radio
Connect Plus

Still might change to the 911 Turbo wheels. Otherwise it's a fairly full spec as is, so unlikely to add anything else.

Any views?

Hi Tim bo,

That is a full spec!

Going into lock-down was a mare and it took a whole weekend to finally nail down what I wanted. My thought process was if I wouldn't use it don't spec it. With this in mind I decided against PASM as I honestly didn't think I'd use it but I did spec sports chrono as I knew it was something I would use. Also have you thought of going for PDLS instead of PDLS plus as you're paying a considerable amount more. Overall the money I saved allowed me to spec 911 Turbo wheels.

It's only my opinion but hope it helps.

Best of luck and looking forward to seeing the end result smile

Wow! Thanks for the pic - so few Sapphire Blue 718 pics on t'internet, and certainly the first I've seen with the Turbo 911 wheels.

Looks great and that's convinced me ... will go down that road. smile

Hi Armara

I hadn't originally specced PASM, but after reading the many many views on here that PASM really makes the ride much more compliant and less crashy, particularly with 20" rims, I thought it was worth it. The test drive I had in a 718 Boxster S had PASM, and around the atrocious roads of West London it rode very well.

Things like PDSL Plus are indeed frivolous add-ons that add nothing to the drive of the car itself. But I'm pernickety about the way my cars look, and I really like the 4-point LEDs that come with PDSL Plus so I specced them. Along with other naff things in the interior like coloured seat-belts and model logo on leather arm-rest, these things complete the look of the car for me and make it just so. smile

Also think I will go with white dials on the dash.

Am i being dim or have you missed off folding mirrors? Seeing as you've ticked just about everything else, you may as well have them too?!

As an aside, Wilmslow OPC has an amazing 718 Cayman in the showroom in a special colour. Its like a lime green (similar to the Cayman R colour on the 987 generation) which looks fantastic! Stupidly forgot to get a pic when I was down there the other day. If anyone lives nearby, i suggest you go and have a gander if you're undecided on colour... although i think that particular car was retailing at £62k (a base model)!

I don't really have the need for the folding mirrors. The car isn't a DD, I don't park on the street at night, and rarely park on the street when I do take it out and about.

I guess everyone has their must-have specs - folding mirrors just isn't one of mine.

Whereas, ahem cough cough, Model Logo Embossed on Leather Arm-rest is an absolute must have. bounce

Miami blue with satin black wheels!

That's quite a choice. Vivid contrast. Very interested to see how that comes out smile

This will be my first Porsche so I'm worried that I'll regret my spec. I'll be using it as a daily driver and will likely never track it. PASM didn't seem worthwhile during my test drive, so that rules out PTV as much as I'd like the differential. Similarly, I don't think I'll get value out of Sports Chrono. PSE doesn't appeal to me with the new engine.

I'm looking at around £3.5k of options and I have the budget for up to £6k, but I don't want to spec anything for the sake of it. I plan to keep this car for a LONG time as it's kind of a pre-marriage present to myself haha!

Is there anything glaring that I've missed?

- Base Cayman
- White (not convinced that CWM is worth the extra?)
- PDK
- Black Leather package with partial leather seats (full seems excessive when partial covers most surfaces that are often touched)
- ParkAssist (front and rear)

Thanks in advance for any responses smile

Good call. Having PASM on my 981 it would probably be my No.1 option on a new car.

Sports Chrono would be bottom of my list. I used it once on a test drive car and couldn't fathom when I'd ever want to again!
It was a PDK though.

I use my 718 S as a daily driver and didn't go for performance options but for practical options so did add climate control (standard is a manual fan), seat heating, DAB and front/rear sensors all of which have proved very useful. I also went partial leather which is fine for the reasons you say. I also added Bose / Sat Nav / 20" wheels which are not essential but I wanted them !

Hope this helps
