Who has a car on order, and did you manage to get any sort of discount?

I quite like the look of the sport-tex/full leather interior, anyone seen this in the flesh on a Boxster?

Joking aside.

Ordered yesterday. £2k 'dealer finance contribution' and some Porsche goodies as a discount.

Was at PEC a few weeks ago. They had a Cayman there with the sport-tex interior. Looked great to me.

I'm afraid the pics don't show the interior very well...

PDK is great, esp if daily but this will be more of a weekend car.. (assuming I like the 4 pot!)

Is it the done thing on here to ask what dealer you secured the £2000 contribution from? Please PM if you are happy to share and don't wish to say in public.

I see that Coast to Coast cars are showing a £1400 discount on a Cayman 2.0 PDK, i don't know what dealer they use though.

Cayman will be my DD. Just fancied PDK for a change as I'd never had it.

1,000 of comments on here about the new Turbo 4 already. My option: Does it sound as good as my current 981 Boxster? Not even close. Is it terrible? Not really.

Me, put 3k order in on an S.

Not negotiated discount yet but when speccing and finalising build will discuss.

Not gone sport-tex, can't justify the expense. Gone black leather with sports seats plus.

Hmm. After 25 years of driving manuals too I went with my first auto in my current M235i. Comes with the ZF 8-speed auto which has great reviews and everyone was raving about. I truly regret it. I've specced a manual in the 718 S. Can't wait to be shot of the auto and get a proper manual back.

I have posted these somewhere else on here but can't remember where. Think the Cayman looks amazing in Miami Blue but not £1595 amazing. eek

A late surge from Carmine red, which despite being a piss-take price is winning...

On a slight tangent, what is the Sport Tex material that is now optional?

I know alcantara came along a few years ago and is now widely thought of as a good thing, but what is this?

From the pictures it looks like a downgrade from the standard option (like the cloth from the seats of a VW Golf), but not seen it in real life and can't find details of its material properties. Must have something about it to command the same price as extended leather...
