I really am surprised at some of the comments re test drives / opc's and Guildford ....

I have a Cayman on order from Guildford and they have been nothing but helpful.

Prior to ordering I booked a test drive in a 718 Boxster - when I arrived both the basic and S demos had been reserved for me - and not a short test drive either ....... I could take each car for an hour so I could get a good feel for them.

That's service .
My experience at Guildford was good overall when buying my BGTS last year. To be fair I was an easy customer as I pretty much knew what I wanted and had cash for it in the bank. There was a bit of a hiccup at the end ref price increase, but it was resolved to my satisfaction. I was also given a 991.2 S for a couple of hours on my own the other month to try out, so can't really complain on the test drive front.

Glad to hear it; hope they have upped their game, they have been nothing but useless to me, and I know a number of other people who had issues with new cars/orders.
I think it very much depends on individuals you deal with (and same could be said of many dealerships), but I think they've definitely upped their game in the last few years.

I had a couple of terrible experiences with them back around 2003-2008 when I serviced my 986 and bought a new 987. 987 was a couple of months late, little explanation, no follow up or communication, etc, bits (trim, finish, paint, etc) not quite right on car, they failed to get me an PEC drive until I complained months later. Then at my first service I used a courtesy car, which upon return the service manager insisted that I pay them the £1.29 (you read that right) they had calculated I used in petrol and hadn't refilled enough, stating that fuel indicators are very accurate now (!!), I refused and he refused to give me my keys back until I paid. I explained that I had just filled it with £5 and had driven it up the A3 and back, and that there is no way gauges are accurate... I didn't go back to them for around seven years.

I bought my CGTS from them in October '14, and have had nothing but an exemplary service from them, then and now. Sales (Paul Massey), finance director, service, test drives, launches, new tyres...you name it, they have been brilliant - helpful, friendly and accommodating. I'll very likely be getting my next car from them as a result too.

My poor experiences have been in the last month or 2....

I have given them opportunity to sell me 997, Cayenne V6, Cayman 981, 991 GTS, Cayenne V8d. Failed every time.

Thanks. Great vid. Watched that last night. Really like it. Not in blue/chalk though. Not a fan of blue leather esp. on a red car. Think he black will look good with the solver stitching though.

Bit lacking if you were interested in knowing about PTV or how PSM and PSM sport differed from the normal suspension, 20vs19vs18" wheels or whether Power Steering Plus was a good idea. Turbo lag got barely a mention. I'm bound to think the guy was a fine arts student not a keen driver.
