I'd disagree with those saying don't get the rear wiper, it's the one thing I missed on my 981.

What cars did you have prior to the 981 with a rear wipe?

Load of bks in my view. Anyone who fits it because it is "part of Porsche DNA" needs to sit down in a quiet room. Buy it because it's useful in some circumstances or not if you don't like the look, or don't think it'll be that useful for the way you use the car.

Its completely useless not being a wash wipe though because all mine ever did was wipe st around which is why I didnt spec it again.

Rear Wiper, am probably going to have it as I think will be useful, lots of rain in uk & will save me clearing rear window by hand before setting off, mind you £234 is a bit steep !

Other comments re 20inch wheels............As I've never spent 50k on a vehicle before & it's probably once in a lifetime for me, I thought the Carrera S platinum with agate grey car looked great, much better than 18 or 19 inch design.

I think it's all about putting that smile on one's face !

I use my CGTS as a daily driver, with no rear wiper.

There's absolutely no need for one. A complete waste of money, save your cash.

I went and had a play with the configurator and I think i would agree with your choice of wheels. its a shame you cant paint the 19s and the 20s do look better stylistically. Definitely spec PASM if you do.

I specced an S up to the standard of my previous Caymans and it hit 70k!!!

Just about everything that was a hatch or estate I would think. For me I missed it first thing in the morning with dew, urban driving in the rain (living in London means I do a fair bit of this) and motorway driving in the rain when the rear hatch quickly gets covered in spray.

The shape of the rear makes it very different to your average hatch or estate car, though. Personally, I found that if I ever thought it was an issue I left the rear screen heater on to deal with it. I just found that without the wash option it just moved st around

I normally dislike white cars and their ubiquity, but I think it looks quite spectacular on the Cayman.

What colour are exhaust tips for free? If silver, they'll go matt black very quickly.
As has been said, the rear wiper is useless with no spray. In 11k miles in my 981 daily driver, over last winter too, I've never, ever, missed having one.

Oh no it isn't! It's just not as useful as it would be with a washer - unless you are happy to drive off with limited rear visibility after having parked in the rain .

Not a Cayman but wouldn't have bought my 911 with rear wiper, ruins lines of any small Porsche IMHO

Do wish it had cruise though for SPECS cameras

Cant make my mind up on PTV/Diff or not. Would you really notice it on the road?

Still cant get conclusive info on Connect+

I dont know about the new model but i have the LSD on my 987 and compared to a car without you could feel its impact. In that application the locking was fairly mild but it did make a difference. If i was speccing a new one I would order it and the 20mm drop

I have it on my 981 GTS and you can really feel it straighten the car up out of a corner when driven assertively.
