So not the whole seat then. Go and have a really close look at the side of your seats and any exposed "leather" over the back.

When I bought my 987 I had the blue full leather option and specified variagated stitching in white and the white really made it obvious the sides of the seat that you don't sit on were not leather and it was the same on the 981.

I crashed my 987 heavily and it fired the drivers seat airbag and once that had gone off the construction of the seat was clear

Anyway back on topic
Yes, the whole seat (what can be) is either leather or face in Tex. The side where the airbag is, and the back is silver plastic.

I think that interior option looks fantastic, especially with the new external colour.

If you can have it black rather than blue with the light, I might have gone for it, but as it is it would clash with Carmine Red I think!

Gone for the same but black with silver stitching.

Did you get to see an example? What's the quality like? It looks good but only Porsche could charge the same for cloth as leather! I'm a big fan of cloth rather than leather and my last 2 cars have had alcantara but looking at the number of used examples on Porsche approved, here and autotrader it would appear I'm in the minority and leather is a must.

Just been told by my dealer that they have a build slot for my Cayman S in November. So I'll expect delivery around Christmas. I wonder if I'll get any discount ???

If you have already paid a deposit, and have a build slot then no!

If my delivery ends up being late Dec I will move it to jan so its a 2017 car I think.

Good to hear your news, excellent xmas pressy !

Put my deposit down 4th July, not heard anything yet.

But am changing spec after reading various comments............no rear wiper as sounds like a good glass polish would keep the rear screen clear, adding cruise control, & deleting speed limit warnings as I assume you can set cruise control for 30 or 40 ?

Still making up my mind about seats......... leather interior/ sportex seats or full leather.

Adaptive CC is a must have option imo. I really enjoyed my 4 hours in a 718s (Box) yesterday. I loved the engine, the car felt responsive and crisp. I don't have a problem with exhaust noise, in fact I quite liked it.

A great sports car, can't wait to try the Cayman.

That's refreshing to hear, as I felt the same after a 24 hour drive with OPC Colchesters basic 718.

That's what is great about these Option threads. ACC on a sports car...the last option I would tick.

I would have cruise without a second thought but ACC on anything other than a S-Class like barge just feels wrong
