Indeed - a sports exhaust on an electric motor?
Fortunately, there's already an app for that https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....FourPotPorsche said:
Thanks for that and below is a link to another review by somebody else who also likes the sound. No doubt we will be told shortly that he is hearing impaired. He does have a beard though so he must be a Porsche purist

"The new exhaust systems were developed to ensure the delivery of passionate, Porsche-typical sound."
When was sounding like a Subaru typical Porsche?
I've had a Boxster 718S on test this weekend alongside my own 981S so I did a little video.

Tuning isn't really my bag, but for anyone else here's a Link to a 390bhp MTM tuned 718 Boxster. fairly long, so I haven't watched it all yet, no idea what the verdict is at the moment.

mods4cars have released a SmartTOP module for the 718 Boxster. Has a bit more functionality than remote roof operatio if anyone is interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg9dUM5M5lA

When I had my 330ci cab I wanted to have remote roof operation and there were a few firms selling "boxes" at £2-300 to do this. Then I stumbled on a BMW indy on my doorstep who plugged the car into his diagnostics unit, pressed a few buttons, and 15 minutes and £15 later I had full remote control via the car's original key fob. No box required! I wonder if it's the same for the Boxster?

People go on about the great sound of the 981 at higher revs but my Cayman PDK hardly ever reached higher revs because I'd have lost my licence so I'm not missing anything. I far prefer the low down torque of the 718.
I like the sound of the 718 at startup. It's different but what's not to like. Some people seem very narrow minded and unable to adapt to change. I love my 718 and really happy I traded in my 981. I'm getting so bored with the negativity around here I think I'll move away and concentrate on other threads where negativity is warranted, like Trump and Clinton.
And you will not loose your licence in the lower RPM on the 718? pffff.I like the sound of the 718 at startup. It's different but what's not to like. Whats not to like........I don't like it, but that's my opinion, does that mean I am narrow minded and have to adapt to change? No, it just means I like something different, and no would not buy a 718 even if I wanted a new car the option for me and lot of other people is closed, as we just would not be happy, I think that's fair enough. Not everyone has to like the 718 which you seem to think they do, you like its your car, others don't, its just that simple.

Hard to say. Coding wasn't possible on my Z4, only the smartTOP would do it. I'd assume with the Z4, it was primarily because re advanced roof options were part of the comfort access package or similarly named option. Standard car allowed you to lower the roof remotely, but not put it back up.Then I stumbled on a BMW indy on my doorstep who plugged the car into his diagnostics unit, pressed a few buttons, and 15 minutes and £15 later I had full remote control via the car's original key fob. Thanks very much for the review. I really enjoyed it and, although ...some say...you cannot be unbiased, I thought your appraisal of the 718 and 981 were very fair.https://www.facebook.com/Richsgarages/posts/337597...
Thanks again
I just like cars.
It's hard work filming on your own though. I got some external shots of my Model A in the video before this one but really I need help to get decent ones. Cant drive and operate the camera at the same time! :-)
Brings home the astounding value of these entry-level Porsche sportscars.
IMO Porsche deliberately hold the starting price right down to the floor so it's made as difficult as possible for anyone else to enter the market with a mid-price sportscar.
When I visited OPC this week they had a black Boxster and a white 911 convertible standing side-by-side in the showroom. The cars looked remarkably similar - except one was £50k on the road and the other was £100k on the road!
