Although the 987 Spyder was not a limited edition, I read somewhere that only around 220 were sold in the UK. Great cars, more attractive than the 981 Spyder in my opinion, and awesome to drive (but then I am biased.... Mine's silver!)

Wow that's some back garden you got there driving

Its probably about a 50/50 split. Buckets look nice, save weight and must be absolutely superb on a track day but they are a pain to get in and out of for people like me and way too low for shorter people like my partner. And they are not heated which is a shame in an open car with a non-insulated single skin roof that looks great with the rear section left out - I've used mine summer and winter and find they really help with making the car an enjoyable thing to be in, especially up in the mountains smile

the beauty of the buckets is not just their looks and style but on most Spyders the center pannels are Alcantara and as such are warm to sit on unlike leather. I found i did not want heated seats with the Alcantara

The car has also been Rev checked for peace of mind and looking at the addresses of the previous owners they must have all been Vicars biggrin

I am also surprised at the numbers who took off buckets and spyder wheels, especially the dealer optioned cars. Though the salesman at my ofc really didn't get the car or know much about it when he tried to sell me the showroom car with sports seats, PDK and turbo wheels as I was ordering mine.

I like the 997 GTS they have at that dealer. 2wd, manual, white. Only other model currently I'd think about swapping out the spyder. Just not the right timing (luckily) to think about a change.

Was that plate on a 964 in the SE London area a fee years ago? I seem to remember seeing it quite a few times...

Well my brother has collected it and now has it home! He says it drives like a dream and generally is alot sharper in the handling department and also more stable at higher speeds than his previous 997 3.8S.

A happy bunny and he has now signed up to PH so will be along to post soon!

Good man, he'll love it. Took mine out for a bit of a workout yesterday and made myself laugh out loud. Fast, sharp and stunning balance, but enough of an edge when you go for it to keep you on your toes. Had mine five years now and absolutely zero plans to replace

Nice purchase. Get an alignment with max camber on front dialled in. Makes a massive difference to handling and loses that front tyre rolling over feeling. I think stock settings allow -1 deg approx.

Not bad for the money. Really needs some spyders though. Not an easy fine as I'm looking for a spare set at the moment!
Can't believe my luck got a phone call from Ashgoods a couple of weeks after I bought the car and they found a set for me.
