Does one still exist so we can check the price of all the nice extras that were added to new cars ?

Nope, you'd need the original order or a locally saved copy/screenshot of the old configurator.

Here is my spec sheet if that helps you with the options you want.

Jeez PCM is such a rip off, £100 of tech bits added to an existing screen

There isn't one any more. Only the sales invoice or a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche will show the options originally fitted to the car.

Possibly, but they may just point you down the Certificate of Authenticity route rather than do something for nothing! Although you have to own the car to get this.

If you're looking at something for sale, you'll have to go by what the dealer/seller is telling you.

I suggest you just focus on a few worthwhile "functional" ones and the most obvious "visible" ones. At the detailed level of coloured seat belts etc it IMO makes no difference whatsoever to the used value of a car - so long as it doesn't look like it's been crashed through Halfords on a bad day...

And no sticker on underside of front bonnet? I fear I may be becoming a beard Porsche owner

Nope, not there either. Like I said earlier, there's nothing on the car or in the service book listing options from the factory.

Original sales invoice is often the best place to find that information.

1. Lots of stuff you can identify by whether the appropriate switch is fitted, especially around the gear lever
2. If you want cruise control, look out for a small lever to lower left of steering wheel
3. Parking sensors are visible at appropriate end(s) of the car
4. Draught nets can be seen behind the seats even if the removable centre panel is in the boot. Also the slot it goes into.
5. Identifying seats is down to looking for leather and an appropriate range of electrical movement switches.
6. Headlamp system - I'm not sure how you'd tell at a glance, especially on a base car.
7. A base car with twin exhaust tips has had the option fitted.
8. Stereo/phone etc may be quite tricky to spot.

starshots - are you looking for specific information, or is this just a general inquiry? When I bought mine in 2013, the price list was a 90 page book - which I still have.

I have a 981 Price List from 10/2014 for all options for Cayman / Cayman S and GTS .

Apart from descriptions it only lists Order Nos.

eg . PDK ... Order No. 250 ..... £ 1,922 ( Cayman / Cayman S ) ..... £ 2,351 ( GTS )

If you have a description I can give a List price ( inc. Vat ) from 2014 onwards .
