I was in a similar position.

Don't really need Nav as my journey to work is the same every day, but handy to have on the rare occasions I may need it.

For this reason I chose only Connect. Apple Maps is handy if needed and has traffic updates and also changes your route if there is traffic further ahead. (I also listen to Spotify a lot which Apple Car Play supports)

It's certainly not financial suicide to not order PCM Nav, it's just one of the few options you'll probably get your money back on come resale time. If you are paying cash for your 718 it makes no difference (£1000 extra for PCM, £1000 better trade in value at resale). You could happily ignore your PCM knowing you'll get your money back at trade in. But if you are financing your Porsche it's a different case. Yes, you will still get £1000 more at trade in speccing PCM but your monthly payments will have increased £30-£40pm in the meantime (and paid interest on that extra £1000). Expensive for an option you may rarely use.
Good to know I'm not the first with the dilemma!

I've got an S demo next weekend so I'm hoping it has a connect option. I can then give it a good run with Apple maps and see how I find it.

At the moment I'm leaning towards going for Connect and then the extra on PASM.
