Was told by salesman after test drive i would have 718 before Xmas put my 3k deposit down on the 1st August just got email saying my lock down is 20th December build in Febuary delivery in March fecking raging ?? think I'm going cancel
I can understand your frustration. Seems like a long gap between lockdown and actual build strangely?Which is your OPC out of interest? Sounds like some OPCs might be getting caught out with the lack of allocations versus what they were expecting.

I ordered mid-July, and was told there was no way of giving me a date, because the dealers didn't know what their allocations were going to be, but it wouldn't be this year. Might get a March delivery. I think we got spun different lines to one another, but the eventual result will be about the same.Liam
Looks like the S build slots are very hard to come by. Guess this is either down to Porsche underestimating the demand and gearing engine production around the base model or build slots being diverted into more profitable markets in other countries.
I put deposit down in May for 718S and was told at that time it would probably be Oct/Nov. When I contacted dealer in September they then indicated an early 2017 delivery but that this was not definite. Subsequently received a call to say that a customer had deferred their order to next year so I was pushed up the queue to an early December delivery.
Although not an ideal date in terms of season and registration date I am glad that it will be this year as I don't want to end up getting caught up in the April tax hike and possible price increases.

In Dubai I ordered in late August for a Cayman S and was given a manufacture date of October. I just got the email to say the car has been built and is being shipped 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I should have it in 3 weeks from now.
Hate to say it but seems that due to the drop in the pound, Porsche seems to be delaying UK cars, perhaps in the hope that the pound will rebound some time soon.

The January price rise might have more to do with it.
Just got a call from my OPC this afternoon about my mid-July Cayman order. They have been allocated just one Cayman base model for January-February delivery, and have been given no information whatsoever on further deliveries due to operational issues at the factory. They understand if I wish to cancel my order, and anticipate but cannot confirm they will have a car for me in March or April.
A bit disappointing to say the least. I wonder if Porsche UK are hoping for cancellations on cars ordered at 2016 prices?
