Ah well, in which case please bend over and enjoy the experience wink
smile To be honest if i'd have had to wait a year that would be fine it's not that which is an issue it's more honesty and transparency or lack of that is disappointing from the OPC

I initially wanted delivery in March, as car would just be sitting on the driveway taking all the winter weather plus waiting would have a 17 plate on 17 produced car. So relayed that to OPC, probably a mistake.......I was told they would put order in with delivery probably in Dec, as was new model & demand was very high, so I said ok.
After reading all the comments on here I have chased OPC every month since August as would prefer extra money for tax to go on options & had been told maybe Jan/Feb as I had ordered cream leather interior, which was delaying things, so cancelled & ordered std crayon/black leather instead.
Due to length of time a bonus was the option "car colour rear side intake grilles" was added so I am having that.
Plus the car will be well worth the wait..............not long to go now wink

Bet you cant wait, I like the look of the coloured rear side intakes - I think they finish it off nicely. What colour have you gone for and I assume this doesn't delay the build like some options?

I went for Agate grey......they had old model cayman in showroom & I thought it looked better than the black (difficult to keep looking immaculate), white options they had, plus never had a grey car!. Although I did like Carmine red & night blue.
The intakes add 1 day to the delivery time.......special leather interior 8 weeks ! hence why I cancelled.

Just had a call from OPC, my car which was to be here
December 2016 didn't happen, new date 15th January 2017 and now
they are unsure, might be mid February 2017 !!!!!!
Not going to avoid any price increase, not a happy bunny to say the least.

That's annoying.

Has a price increase actually been formally announced though? I haven't seen anything formally communicated yet unless your dealer has been informed already?

No they didn't confirm a price rise but it wasn't denied!
What has really annoyed me I was working to the dates I was informed
when I fixed the spec. Finance is in place and ready to go!!
To summarise:
Deposit paid 23rd July 2016
Porsche experience 15th September 2016
Spec fixed 15th November 2016
Delivery indicated mid January 2017 (not the case now)
Revised delivery unknown??? may be early Feb 2017 or end of Feb 2017.
Anyone had experience of cancelling an order at this late stage? implications?
my patience is at an end, sad to say !!!
Not OPC fault, Porsche crazy allocation of build slots!!!!

Ah fair enough. You might beat the price rise anyway as I believe the OPC is invoiced at the point the car leaves the factory so you never know. Just depends how imminent the price rise is.

Have you discussed your disappointment with the OPC? Just calmly explain your annoyance and issues it has caused and maybe you can negotiate a "freebie" or goodwill of some variety.

Assuming you still want the car, is it really worth cancelling at this late stage? i imagine you won't be able to find a replacement vehicle as quickly now anyway.

If you did cancel I think you'd probably get your deposit back quite easily after enough discussion..... assuming your car is a decent spec (i.e. You haven't ordered a crazy colour scheme they'd struggle to sell on). Even then, they'd probably negotiate a return of deposit on sale of the vehicle. That's what my OPC told me when I asked what would happen if I cancelled after lock down.

Thanks Iconic
I was told I would have the car before xmas originally,
date is slipping every month, I also told them wanted to avoid
any price increase which wouldn't be a problem as delivery december2016!.
I have a good discount which is why I placed a deposit.
My car spec is:
GT Silver
Boxster II 19 inch aloys
Parking sensors front and rear
PDK gear box
GT steering Wheel and heated multifunction steering wheel
Folding mirrors
Cruise control
Leather Black Bordeux interior.
Not a massive spec.

Feel for you.

Like you say it's the misinformation which is so very annoying.

Bad communication from my dealer led to them having to build another car for me, pushed to front of queue, with £500 discount, 3.0% off the finance, but nearly four months later than original car would have been delivered. Was going to be November, is now March.

All it takes is a bit of communication and these issues can be discussed, expectations managed, and don't get out of hand leading to annoyed customers.

I came here looking to to see if I was the only person having problems with my order and frustratingly it seems not.

Order - 718 Cayman
Deposit paid - Late October
Told my build slot was locked in for Mid January 2017

I chased this past week and was told "They are relocating the factory so production is low at the moment, the build has been pushed back until late April and hopefully delivery early May"

Not happy at all.....

OMG
Mines supposed to lock down mid January and I can't afford the tax hikes April
Put a deposit down in mid June and told would have the car by end of year. This became bull .....more like Feb then April so switched to another OPC in October who "promised" delivery mid March .....looking dodgy now !!!! Can't believe what a mess Porsche are !!! Never bought a car from them but a total shambles with allocations and OPC's getting more slots or higher demand ....total lottery ....not happy at all
