Cayman 718 Delivery dates
Discussion
I am in a similar position to Ikonic .Placed an order early September to take advantage of the tax rise and the APD was aware of this ,promising a November/December build slot . I received the invite to Silverstone yesterday so maybe it will get built this year as promised. This is my first Porsche experience and the car is mainly for my wife , hence the colour choice which seems to go against the grain with all the conservative choices most of you guys seem to be making ! Budget has restricted us to a Cayman 2.0 manual , racing yellow , 20'' gloss black wheels , twin black exhaust , rear sensors and DAB radio. I hope you all get yours sooner rather than later and admire the attention to detail you go to in order to get your perfect vehicle . We are having to forgo a few items coming out of an Rcz r .

Hi. Incidentally I also received my PEC invite yesterday so seems as though they must do it in batches.A family member ordered a Macan GTS that is supposed to be locked down now back in August and still hasn't had any invite yet so not sure whether the PEC invite is linked to build date at all.
Sensible spec you've gone for. I think mear base price the Cayman's are phenominal value for money . i started out wanting a very basic car for c44k but it seems to keep on creeping up everytime I use the configurator! I'm up to £49k now!

Welcome. Stay away from the configurator! It can turn out to be an expensive hour (or three) on the internet. You have been warned.

Found out today my 'Leave the factory' date has slipped from 11/11 to 15/11. Hope it doesn't slip any more. On another thread someone else's was early so fingers crossed. Anyone else had news on their delivery dates etc?
Yes. Think my deposit and order went in July 14th, but was told at the time I was unlikely to get a 2016 build date. I'm evidently 4th of about 20 on the list at my OPC for a base Cayman for 2017 delivery, which should mean I get a car in March. Actually suits me quite well as I have a nice car, and some winter wheels and tyres that I can thoroughly enjoy until then. Probably need to nail the spec down before too long though.Liam

Not long now. You lucky git.
No word on mine, no lockdown, no PEC, nothing. Ordered mid-June ...
Just phoned my guy at the OPC now for any update. He's left for the day. At 1:30pm.
And this is Porsche West London, which is owned by Porsche itself ...
I put my deposit down in September and got my PEC invite 3 weeks ago. Although I've heard bugger all about lock down or build dates. No word on mine, no lockdown, no PEC, nothing. Ordered mid-June ...

Seems odd that your PEC invite still hasn't come through yet though. Are you sure it hasn't hit your spam folder? I was quite lucky to be checking for another email in my junk when I noticed one of them was from Porsche!
Good news/Bad news
The good news for anyone waiting for their Cayman to be delivered: mine has arrived 14 days earlier than expected.
The bad news for anyone about to order: At my OPC earlier. Received their allocation allowance for Q1 today. Only 1 Cayman build slot still available between now and May. Deposits already taken for the others. 718s clearly more popular than we think.

My OPC gets their allocation numbers on Monday, and already have 20 orders for 2017 build of the base model. Having ordered in July I'm at the front of the queue, but it seems that those ordering now will have a similar wait to the one I am enjoying. Cayman S evidently has better availability.
Hoping for a March delivery, although they might do slightly better than that.

I can't remember the exact numbers but from memory the allocation was something like:
January
Cayman 4
Cayman S 0
February
Cayman 2
Cayman S 1
March
Cayman 0
Cayman S 0
April
Cayman 1
Cayman S 0
The only slot they had left was a Cayman in February. All others already taken.
(Apparently the April customer doesn't want the car until April hence them not being bumped up to February)
Hopefully all you guys out there who haven't heard from your OPCs regarding allocation will get calls next week.

May I ask who your OPC is out of interest?
