ikonic, if I recall you've gone for the Cayman S wheels, but standard silver, not satin or black?

Thanks for pics bobo.

High-gloss rims, any indication yet as to how quickly the gloss fades with dirt and brake-dust? Wondering how often they'd need a clean, or if the gloss paint is such that dust etc doesn't tend to stick much ...?
just picked up the car last night so early days yet but got the car treated with gtechniq serum black

Hi Tim, yes that's right (although my lockdown is in 3 weeks so might still change before then!).

I'm just exploring ways in advance to try and keep them silver and shiny rather than them turning more like the black wheels once they coated with a thick layer of brake dust!

I went for Carrera S Satin platinum finish for that reason..........does not really show brake dust, on the cars I've seen with this finish it just seams to blend to the colour of the wheels.

My 2014 satin platinum Carrera S wheels suffered hundreds of "micro chips" in the first 13k miles before I bought it.
These were on every leading edge of every spoke of all four wheels.
PGB settled my warranty claim with a cash payment toward re-furbishing them and refunded the 111 point check fee I'd paid because they passed the wheels with a double tick on the check sheet.

There may have been some quality issues with a batch of wheels OR it may be an ongoing problem. Many other owners with this wheel have reported similar issues.

Beware.

Might give this a whirl when my car finally arrives. Nothing worse than brake dust appearing just days after you've done a big wash.

I note it recommends 2 different sizes based on your rim size... is it referring to a single wheel or all 4? I.e. Do you have to buy 4 boxes of it to clean all your wheels?! Gets quite pricey then!
I think they mean the diameter of wheel so if you have say 15inch alloys a 15 mm bottle will do all 4 alloys but if your on 20inch you would need a 30mm bottle a little really goes a long way with Gtechniq products if you go on to there website or YouTube lots of different how to use videos bud smile

Picked her up today. Finally.

OPC went to great lengths to make it a fun pickup.

Got a few phone pics inside the centre. Crappy pics don't do her justice, and it was a miserable day out there so no good light for outdoor shots.

Got detailing booked in mid-April, so will get the proper camera out, find a decent location on a day with good light, and get some proper pics.

Looks great Tim. Didn't realise you could have the embossing on the central storage lid.
